The second comment is just idiotic. You fail
Nitrous is the only ''power adder'' that is not part of the engine. Because you have to keep buying/refilling that power. You don't have to do that a S/C or Turbo. An engine will run just fine without the nitrous hooked up. You unbolt a S/C and the engine will not run at all. Just like if you pulled all 8 spark plugs. LOL @ at anyone (morons) who thinks the internals are the ONLY part of an engine.

You really are stupid

A motor will run with out the blower belt on it....and centerfugal blowers you can un bolt those and it will run just fine as well....

So the CI your intake displaces should be added to the CI of your motor by your logic. Or let me guess that's some how different....

are you still calling a blower part of the engine guy?

its already been established- its what you would call a "power adder"

take the belt off and everything runs fine.

I WISH these guys wrote the rule books for NHRA!!! Pro Stock would be HAULING THE MAIL

By far the dumbest logic I have ever heard...

So enlighten us on how the new ProCharger with programmable boost works??

So to put these two in comparison for those to simple to understand....

A Superchaged/Nitrous/6.2L Camaro vs Supercharged/5.0L Mustang

Could you Imagine the Chaos if the ZL1 Camaro ran a 3.4L/E85 Whipple Terminator!!!

Itd be a bolton Termi vs a Sprayed Bolton Meth injecton 6.2L $80k+ ZL1

It would take a 3.4 whipple to run with that ZL. 5.0 is much stronger than that old 4.suck.

I can't for the life of me figure out why he messes with the stock blower on the ZL. That would be the first thing I would pitch.

I cant figure out why you would start with a ZL1 as a car to MOD out that extensively PERIOD!!

The $20,000 difference from a LS3 SS vs ZL1 Sticker tags would buy ALOT of modifications!!

As for the 3.4L Whipple Crusher E85 Cobra... Id pick the Cobra on CRUSHING that ZL1

You have a point on the ZL. I would go 1LE but factory supercharging is easier to mod up on. There are some things in the chassis to that may make the ZL option worth while. Bigger diff/axles really good shocks.

A 3.4 on a cobra is at the outer edges of it's life expectancy. A friend has a completely built one and he's not much faster than the ZL. If the cars weighed the same he wouldn't be as fast.

Too each his own...

But I can buy some BADASS Diff components, A YSi Kit, Built Shortblock, and a damn good clutch for less than $20,000... And thats just the sticker price comparison... Id figure Headers and full exhaust with the money I saved on sales tax and plates. Your ZL1 would still be sitting at Stock 510-530whp while The SS at EQUAL value would be looking at 700+whp...

You would have to spend $10g's on a SS to get there powerwise though. The diff stuff is gonna be near $5g's but the time you get it all..... And then there's still gonna be stuff the ZL does better. A ZL with a 3L or larger blower would be plain nasty in every way. It's still a tank.....but it would be a graceful tank....lol

With all that money spent you may be better off with a used c6 Z06.

So you still live with mommy an daddy, and 4years of mods later you can barely beat a cammed Z28 after stealin the hit, keep up the good work BRAH

btw, ive only had my car for 4 months.

Oh and you know since tax season is just around the corner, its not like forged internals, a D1 and a 4hr trip to wilmington are outta the question either.

Im comparing Sticker to Sticker Mod for Mod... Keeping it as close to apples to apples you can get...

The used C6Z would be much better....

5th gen LS3 SS:
Built 416ci Shortblock - $5,000*
V-7 YSi Kit - $8,000*
RST Clutch Kit - $1,200
DSS 9inch Kit w/ Driveshaft - $4,800
Pfadt Racing Lvl 1 Drag Pack - $1,500
Aeromotive Stealth system - $800.00

Total- $21,300

You could still sell your stock diff, short block, and suspension to help offset anyother cost.

Headers and other boltons would be the difference in Plates, insurance, and taxes from the orginal purchase...

ZL1 as modded race car = PLAIN STUPID!!!!
