I wasn't even involved in the original discussion that led up to his post, was just clarifying what I figured he meant (and I was right ) because I know what people on this site consider "bolt-ons."

I guess this is the difference between NA and Blower camps.

Peeps that buy cars that come stock with a blower consider a pulley a bolt on.

NA camp thinks it's cheating, thus it ain't a bolt on...lol.

Either way, I don't really give a **** what it's called.

The point is, my buddies 2013 GT500 runs good for the small amount of mods that has been done to it.

Buddy picked up 21whp with dumping the cats on his 13 GT500. It picked up almost 50whp just from a tune. Same dyno same day. Then had h pipe sent and new tune emailed. Lund is tunning his car. Well really he getting already written tunes.

Mine and my buddies cars are both Lund tooned. I don't really know why he insists on keeping his stock cats.

Yes you can... as the 13's already have the TVS... which has gone mid 140's on completely stock motored cars... meaning they only had boltons

1: those same guys must HATE IT when a turbo guy claims "tune only" and whoops there bolton *** right? You see what I'm saying.

2: N/A camps are the vast majority of the car and non-car world. To us, anything that accentuates or improves the native airflow of the base engine itself is a bolton. To us, this starts at the crate engine level: how efficient is the engine itself when down to its bare bones essentials? How efficient is that cobra engine once you free up intake, exhaust, and parasitic losses? To us, adding psi is changing the native airflow through the engine. No different than a cam or head upgrade that also puts more air through the engine.

^^^ Not saying I totally subscribe to my theory listed above, but it is what they think. And for good reason.

3: I totally agree. I look at stuff from the point of view of if I bought one of those and started modding it, what does it take to get good power out of it? what is the power to cost ratio? The GT500 is alot like the ZR1 or to a lesser extent a GTR: solid improvements in power are easily achievable engine wise, without having to throw alot of money at trans and suspension. IE, they are enthusiasts wet dreams.

Edit: Intake, exhaust, wheels/tires, tune would be basic bolt-ons to a car. And that's even pushing it to say "basic".

If we are going by the way he see's it I can "bolt-on" my procharger kit for added boost. Or "bolt-on" a nitrous kit. Adding nitrous or adding boost is not a bolt-on. Heads cam are NOT bolt-ons either lol

New gt500's are nice cars and far better than the ones before looks and all, but when you up the boost you are no longer just a bolt-on car... That's like saying well I just replaced my intake with the snail looking deal that runs off the stock acc. LOL

Well, lets not argue the "definition" of bolt-on then. Plain and simple, the 13-'s don't take much at all to run 9's. Stock 100% unopened motor, stock exhaust, stock supercharger... give credit where it is due man.

I like my brick on wheels. It hurts feelings on the highway.

I see a pulley swap as a bolt on. A ported blower no. Pulley is same as some on doing a FAST. Where ss a ported blower would be some one doing heads.

The blower is part of the motor, for the 10 trillionth time, bozo. And its not a stock blower anymore if the pulley has been swapped. Your logic is straight up comical.

Like i said before... there is no "bolt on only" NHRA class. Its just internet lingo... its made up... doesnt exist. Bolt ons means something different to everyone. So again... who cares. Mods are mods... have fun.
