Lol, I had a boost controller on my 230 whp SR20 and no one considered that to be any sort of a major mod. It's funny how the faster you go the more stringent the standards become.

I would put it the opposite way. When your that slow no one cares lol. And I never said it's a major mod. A pulley swap is pretty simple. Change pulley/belt and get a retune. Just not a bolt-on Imo. If you add that than you could just say anything is a bolt-on. When you swap pulleys you are causing your sc to work harder and force more air into your engine. Look on forums where they have "fastest list" most of fastest bolt-on times and i never have seen where they include upping boost to be a bolt-on. ZR1 is no different.. Bolt-ons should be simple things like cai, intake mani, exhaust, wheels, tune. Imo. Once you up the boost, replace a cam, replace heads, port heads or anything it's no longer a bolt-on car. And like a few have said people are going to see it there own way, but if you look at fastest list's they don't include those other things as bolt-ons.

Sure is. No one ever said that all engine mods were "major".

To further explain my opinion.

The zr1 fast list. Notice they have bolt-ons just like i mentioned. And than a different category for (bolt-ons & boost modification). Two different category's and with just pulley swap they have gone 9's@145 lol. Big difference.

Just because that site distinguishes between boost and non boost mods, it doesn't mean it is the correct way to catagorize mods for all bolt on SC cars.

It isn't the governing body on "bolt ons" and neither are you or I. lol

You do it the way you want and I'll do it the way I want.

Man.. we are really arguing semantics now.. no need for it really. I run what I brung... I could care less if someone classifies it this.. or classifies that. My car is modded... pretty simple description.

Well you can look at it how you want, BUT you are on ls1tech and ls1tech does there fastest list's the same way as corvette forum like I just posted. Bolt-ons are the same and anything else is not considered a bolt-on. . It'd just be easier if you use one set of rules that the site you're on uses otherwise no one will agree. Again my opinion....

Pulleys aren't bolt ons but people will ride somebodies nuts and categorize aftermarket rocker arms as bolt ons.

Oh.

Ya... since LS1s have factory superchargers.......

Pulleys in that case are referring to weight loss not boosted applications.

I just always considered it to be an advantage of owning a factory FI car.

A pulley is a pulley.

That was from the C5 section that includes the ZL1.

Some of y'all are dense sommbitches around here.

Didn't know ZL1s had L99 and LS3 engines.

It's not my concern that all the ZL1s are to scared to post on that list because they are too busy running the ring or whippin around cones in a tight parking lot.

Islander....you seem alright. But with the numbers you put down you don't really make a great argument.

I'm not a ZL1 fan at all but that just makes you sound stupid.

They have an LSA, which is 10x a better engine than anything ford has right now. And it's no a ***** out power car like the new GT500s. GM still has the vette.

Here's what an LSA in a 4300lbs barn will do to a 2013 GT500.

Stock 2013 GT500 vs 606whp CTS-V

Bolt on/pulley GT500 vs 648whp CTS-V
