its always gonna be a pissin match between what ever the baddest camaro is and whatever the baddest mustang is. ford makes a bad *** gt500 then chevy will make a faster camaro then the next year the gt500 will step its game up a lil bit and make it faster than the camaro so on and so on.

Lol they had the Mustang 2, which admittedly sucked, so it didn't completely disappear and was more the case of a substitution, but I like to see you claw and gasp for air to find a Ford equivalent of when the f-bodies got put to bed...with no replacement for the same market... Sorry

the fact is the mustang did disappear. they replaced a pony car with an econobox for quite a few years.

and gm still had lots of performance based vehicles during the Camaros hiatus. during fords pinto era they had none.
