The problem with that logic is that most people mod their cars so you have a "little more" than the other guy if you happen to cross paths on the street. This is what makes the hobby fun. Being able to beat a known faster car.
Mustang, Camaros, Firebirds etc. have a large after-market for performance parts. Ford & GM sells these cars with the hope you do invest in these kind of modifications. Mod up your car, man and then go re-run the 5.0 again or even a MACH or 2V and see how you do.

The being 18 part was sarcastic I'm 28 I know modding and finding out who's car is faster is the game but my comment was referring to I bet he thinks he can beat a 4.6 2 v
