So my 108.59 car would have done well against a stock 5.0? Bullshit

Should have had bus lengths on the ls1 here...

Regal by 5.0, juices up tomorrow

True, but it's not about which 5.0 you come up against but more like which driver. The car itself is capable of a good ET and trap BUT in the hands of good driver much like any other car. They do not ALL run like the internet will have you believe.

Recently, I was at the track and a 5.0 Mustang was running. On one run he only managed to trap 82mph in the 1/8. On his next run, he passed the beam while staging. He backed it up and finally staged but also left the car in reverse. Well, you can guess what transpired when the green came on..LOL

Point being, it really comes down who is driving the 5.0. In capable hands, they can run pretty good.

I don't disagree. the same can be said for how well a bolt on ls1 runs as well.

I think with the powerbands of each car, and the gearing of the Mustang, an LS1 F-body is probably more forgiving if you're a decent-enough driver as far as shift points go. I could be totally wrong, as I've driven neither at the track, but typically that is the situation with cars like that.

besides the shifting issue, I found the boss really easy to launch and run.

Easy doesn't always mean fast. If a Boss Mustang is losing to a stock or lightly-modded F-body, it is clearly a driver issue. Or something is wrong with the car.

You're still talking a low 12s car that traps 114mph+. And 114mph is on the low side. Compared to (depending on the mods/model we're talking about) a 108-112mph car. 112mph being on the high side for a lid/exhaust car. You saw the video of the H/C/stalled car vs. the intake/exhaust/tune 5.0. That 5.0 would have its hands full with a stock Boss, and a lid/exhaust F-body wouldn't stand a chance against that H/C LS1. The quickest/fastest stock Boss times are right smack in the middle between the '01 and '02-'04 Z06, and if somebody came in here with a lid/exhaust Z28 talking about running with a C5Z he would get laughed at.

Buddies '11 5.0 auto trapped 110 with 500 miles on it. Stock down to the air filter. It has the 3.15 gears as well. Not a base model either.
