Default GTO freeway race

Coming home from work I saw a black GTO next to me. We had a little room in front of us and we goosed a little. We were neck and neck but we could only go for a short burst. We got onto a toll road with no traffic and let it rip. We started at 70 and went to 110. I pulled right away and got about 2 on him before we shut down. I was impressed though, I thought I would pull away harder. A few mods and those will be in the high 12's.

High 12's? You mean mid 11's right? BMR's GTO runs mid 11's with a tiny converter, a 150shot, and tires.

Nice kill. I've yet to see a GTO on the road.

Ive only seen one...right outside of Boston...in bumper to bumper traffic...with a little old lady behind the wheel...with 3 kids in the car... At least as I drove by she looked, smiled and gave me the thumbs up, which I returned...bet she woulda raced had the circumstances been better

150 shot is not a minor mod.

It is in my book. It takes about 2 hours and $500. Sounds minor to me.

Good kill. The only GTO I've seen is the one sitting at the Pontiac Dealership. I've been wanting a peice of one since they came up.

They don't seem to be selling to well.

just hope you get one that knows how to drive. I ran up on a guy heading home from work. he had just come from the dealer. I mean just drove off the lot. he had his girl in the car and I was coming on the highway I merged and heard him rev the engine. i was like hell yeah it is on like donkey kong. so I pulled up next to him the road was wide open and we hit it. I beat him like a red headed step child. i pulled on him like a scaleded dog. I was like WTF. so we lined up 2 more times and i payed no attention but once he got off I followed to a gas station. turns out this was his 2nd or 3rd time driving a stick car. got to give him props for only driving a stick once or twice then going out and buying an M6 GTO and driving it through atlanta back to greenville SC. his problem was he had it in 5th the whole time never down shifting. O well we all have been there and we all learn. just thought I would put my 2 cents in.

Sounds like me. When I bought my car a few years ago, I had only driven a stick 3 or 4 times (and it was an old corolla with a slipping clutch). There was beautiful weather the entire day, and as soon as I had signed the papers a three day Chicago blizzard started up (in APRIL!!). I had to follow my dad back about 40 miles on the highway like that...guess that's what happens when you buy a car on April fool's day. At least it makes it easy to remember how long i've had the t/a...

Either way, I can drive it like a raped ape now .

Yeah, but it sure doesn't FEEL minor when you hit the go button...

Yea I haven't seen many either but Gm did say they weren't going to import a whole lot the first year. I believe they said once it gets recognized in the country they were planning on stepping up production. The one we had at our local dealership sold in advance and we've been waiting to get another in. The one that sold hasn't been on the streets at all. I would really like to meet up with one. BTW Nice kill.

Go look at a Grand Prix/Grand Am then open your hood and look at your LS1. Combine them and poof...you've got a GTO.

Haha, I just thought of something... He never said what year the GTO was... For all we know, it could have been an old school GTO. I think he was talking about the newer one, but you never know...
