Basically, you are a mindless Troll stirring the pot and showing no intelligence in doing it.
If you were smart (notice the 'if') you would be smarter and backup your insults with real info or at least somewhat realistic info.
Point is your a clown

hey here's an interesting note... he started this thread by talking about how he beat a stock evo... in what we later find out to be his "10 second civic". even if any of us believe him, he'd still be a dumbass just for posting about beating a mid-13 second car with a 10 second car.
it'd be like me bragging about beating... a civic.

hmmm, he must have been picked up from the day care center. I can not believe i missed all of this ****.
I would like to get GSREV, or a few of those guys, or even Carey (cheesefrog) in here.
This guy my friends is a tool and a troll. Plain and simple. If he would like to play that i have less cubes then you BS then so be it. it is ok then he will be slower to cars with more cubic inches. 454 with new crank and just a minor amount of head work = 500 + hp. EASY no problems at all and will be made on pump gas and reliable as anything. Not to mention 800 hp bigblocks daily drive on pump gas. We build them here at work everday. Not to mention the other cars we build on since we are sponsors.
please keep your weak 4 cylinder crying *** off the comp. You are worthless and should end yourself.

Well, this conversation has more to do with ego than automotive technology, but...
It is also kinda dumb to bash Honda just because you may not like them, even if this guy is a jerk. Honda has been the world's largest engine manufacture for the past 20 something years, because they make great engines of all types. Not to mention their several successful outings at a little event called F1.
But one thing you need to keep in mind "Move", is that there really is no replacement for displacement. That is just the laws of physics. So when you say "V8's suck", what do you mean? Do you mean that they suck for MPG, or what? All cars are engineered by pretty damn smart people, and their engines are always application specific.
As far as the technology an engineer chooses to use goes...
Your example of a push-rod design being old doesn't really hold much water. Yes an OHC setup could allow for other design advantages elsewhere in the engine, but the push-rod design is tried and true. So it has durability as it's positive point, which is a big plus.
There are always trade-offs of one technology over the other, and engineers choose these per application to suit the needs of their design. So to compare an engine that was originally designed to be highly fuel efficient and have a long service life with one that had maximum power, torque, and cheap production costs as it's objective is not logical at all.
On the other hand, import engines are not all ****. The differences in design of foreign and domestic sports cars usually have a lot to do with their target audience. That is the reason that not until recently could you obtain from your local dealer some of the more powerful imports sports cars. Their manufactures just have not seen a large enough target audience in the US to start selling them here. American motorsports have traditionally been more oriented toward drag racing and NASCAR type racing. Although there are exceptions, such as the Silver State Classic where people race everything under the sun and come from all over the world to do so. However, elsewhere in the world these automotive anomalies such as NASCAR do not occur as much. In places like Europe and Japan, where most of the imports come from, the focus of motorsports is on WRC or Formula 1 racing. The type of car built for these types of racing is far different.
It is all a matter of personal preference. And it is stupid to say imports or domestics are crap, just because you happen to be a fan of the opposite one.
Just my 2 cents.
