Good point MAC and yes that's true some of the Mustang crowd does the same, and I say the same to them. Sometimes it really seems like a lot of LSx folks on here have absolutely no idea what a nice 302 heads/cam car can do. Back when I had my '89 notch a few guys in my crowd had heads & cam 302 or 306 Foxbodys which ran high 11s very low 12s n/a. And they all were nitrous cars on top of it. Not the usual crap you see here on SRK.
Bro, 302s suck. GM 305s are where it's at. Just ask guys on here.

Well if you guys are gonna say my car is not the norm...... Then that's what I'm saying about that car. Not that we were talking about foxes or anything.

Like I said that would take a great day and probably a icing down with a tire on it.

4.10's are not great from a roll. Besides you completely over looked what and how it was said. The m5 gearing is much better from a stop regardless of gear.

2 rules when arguing with Hio

1.) Find a rock
2.) Argue with it

Same results

Just be glad I don't have extra time and money or I would find a notch and put a Chevy in it like everyone else. except I would use a 305 with gm heads and drag your ***.

I dont think any engine is bad i believe you just need to know what your doing and have the right combo set up properly. Hell you can always bore out and stroke the 305 and put some sort of F.I. on it an im sure it would make good numbers for what it is.

Dur durrrr durr.
305 would be a good motor if you "bore and stroke it out". Derp herp derp.

Mac, breaking news!!!! Boring and stroking a motor increases the cubic inches!!! Would no longer be a 305!!! Mind=a-bomb'd.

Mac can count to potato.

Snake my point is that if you know what your doing any motor or engine can be built to put down respectable numbers for what it is. Do i need to explain it any more clearly for you or did your caveman brain grasp that?

A 305 is just a SBC with terrible heads , and tiny bore

Nothing different than a 350 other than that if you build a 305 vs a 350

You're a dumb ***

A good heads cam setup? Why are you assuming it wasn't?

lol i think it did great given the mods on the f-body. Most H/C/I 306 Notch's are unimpressive, From first hand experience. This is an SN95 we're talking about here.

FWIW, I coincidentally ran into my brother's old '85 GT Fox at Byron dragway last summer. Its a stock 302 with GT40P heads, an Edelbrock intake and carb, mild cam, T5, 3.73 gear. My bro did roughly 200 lbs weight reduction but he also installed a cage and a '90 GT full interior. Guess what the owner was running with some cheap nearly balled street tires?? Two runs I seen were 13.3 and 13.2. No icing, crap tires, no tricks. Dude just knew how to drive it.

I started talking Foxbodys because the SN-95 is the same platform and they run nearly identical with identical setups.

Exactly so how is the 305 terrible like snake said? Idk why he must piggy back all my comments. I guess it makes him feel better and all gooey inside..... again like i said any motor or engine can be built good and put respectable numbers for what it is. Guess thats too hard to understand for some people.....
