I wasn't either until I bumped into a guy on Face Book that had one with a stock long block on gas running 6.80's (1/8 mile).

When you get past basic bolt-ons, sure. But stock, the average LT1 is closer to a New Edge 2V than a well-driven 3V. Call me a nut-swinger if you will.

Quit nutswinging, Greg!

I had no problems with 3Vs in my stockish LTjuan

I raced a couple LT1s in my exhaust-only '98 GT, and they never put more than 2 cars on me...hence why using street races to gauge how one model stacks up to another is BS. And if you are running 13.0 on a mediocre run, it's not exactly "stockish."

Poor little Dougie, doesn't like to use numbers that people outside of his own little bubble run.

I was talking back when I bought it when it was BBK shorties and a flowmaster muffler only, just to clarify. I don't think the shorties picked up much, as I noticed the biggest difference installing the longtubes.

Went from
1. shorties/flowmaster muffler
2. got rid of muffler and added slp lm2 catback
3. added 3.73s
4. added built 4l60 and 3600 stall
5. added headers, girdle for 10-bolt, torque arm, CE rear drag shocks

Lets use your #'s then Irun14.2's.......that is what your stang ran right?

My buddy with a stock auto z28 went 13.9.....in August heat. Another friend went 13.0 with very mild bolt-ons in a auto formula Lt.

My experience > your bullshit

My cracked intake and pulled timing > your cherry-picking stories to use. I am well aware of what LT1s run.

What do you figure you would have ran w/ just the shorties and muffler?

No clue man! Should have probably been good for mid 13's in good air in my old WS6.

The 13.024 run was in 2700DA and hitting the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift because it had to be manually shifted on the 1-2 due to trans wanting to short shift to 2 on launch. The car was only in 2 & forgot

Think 1/8th was 8.2@82.45 or something like that with a 1.74 60'.

I realize it sounds like there was a **** ton of excuses in this post, but calling a spade a spade and telling the whole story.

I drove a few of them Yuck!!! The 09 I drive with a tune was a low 13 second car. Not bad but a tad disappointing. Ford knew it hence the 5.0. Huge improvement

There is a difference between giving excuses, and giving reasons. No hate here, I think I said your car would run a 12.9 when you were asking.

Yes and no. They '11 was way faster, but if you were fine with "just" 310hp, they were practically GIVING the '10s away.

I would've figured with your vast experience you would've fixed the intake.

How do I cherry pick a couple buds with these cars?? Do you think I ride around and say.....there's a dude with a car and I want to be his friend.......lmfao.

Both cars had over 100k.....one was bone stock. The other had a msd box, shorties, gears, intake. Nothing major or very well sorted.

May have been able to run better than a 12.9 with better air, tune, littles up front, and some dialing in and tweaks besides 2 runs and done - but that is all bench racing at this point

Car went to **** after me. The paint/interior is depressing now

A guy up the street from me bought a 10. I told him he should've waited. He did not keep the 10 long. He traded it on a 11.

In 2010 (when the 5.0s were first on the street) I saw a post on corral about Ford including a Xanax prescription for guys who bought new 2010s, I almost pissed myself.
