Probably ported ls7 heads with mild cam. Its not the most aggresive H/C setup out there. He will be dialing in a 100 shot soon, so rematch will be interesting

That McLaren is sick, u must have a strong runner cuz at the 1/2mile event last April one only trapped a few tenths higher than my bolt on z06

I think this goes to show the McLaren's gearing advantage due to the 7 speed lighting fast shifted SSG. The guys in the vettes sure seemed to be shifting fast but not as fast as the McLaren.
I was honestly expecting the C5 to edge out the other cars. Wonder what difference it would have made if it was a coupe.

The coupe/FRC issue in aerodynamics is simply a turbulent area behind the rear glass, on the FRC models. The HATCH or TARGA coupe has the longer sloped glass....allowing the air to smoothly flow off the back of the car. The FRC...has a dead pocket...creating a swirl effect. Not a big deal until your really high speeds..which I watched vid yesterday so,..don't remember how fast dudes where up to but this would only show at HIGH speeds.

That McLaren is a very sweet ride and runs fantastic.

Is ~650 crank hp really that aweful for a h/c C6Z? Definitely not a monster build but not shaby either I do think myself.

I'd say the dyno where it made 540 wheel was VERY generous.... i'd say its closer to 500 maybe even a little below

Are you also considering the much better gearing in the McLaren and not just whp? Gearing can do wonders.

if the zo6 really made what it posted then 100tq at the wheels more than the mclaren should easily make up the difference in gearing... you need less gear when you have gobs of tq... either the Mclaren makes alot more power than we know or the zo6 is down on power....
