McLaren MP4-12C vs Cammed Corvette C6 Z06 & F1C Procharged C5 Corvette

AWD75 Videos brings another Exotic vs Domestic video including Infamous McLaren and two ( C5 & C6 ) corvettes. All of the cars are running strong and fairly matched up. First match up was Infamous McLaren going against Heads/Cam C6 Z06, first from a low (30mph) roll, then high (50mph) and lastly from another high roll (50mph) by giving the hit on the Z06. Second match up was Infamous McLaren against a F1C Procharged C5 Vette. First, from a low (30mph) roll, then from a high (50mph) roll.

-McLaren had a passenger (cameraman) while other cars were without passengers.

very surprising that a stock 12c could win... especially since they only make 500-515hp and 400-420tq at the tires> see dyno of stock 12c .... they r a bit lighter than a c6 zo6 but not by alot.... you'd expect the massive tq advantage of the vettes to allow them to just sail away... maybe the vettes dont really make what they claimed? especially the f1 vette, or maybe the 12c is running higher than stock boost?i didnt see any prob with the zo6 shifting... looked plenty quick for a mt

For sure McLaren is a fast car for what it is. I would say its doing pretty good with just 616hp(at the crank). I believe the biggest advantage the McLaren has over the Vettes is the uber-complex electronics and traction control. Even though McLaren was the heaviest among the 3 cars(w/cameraman), it still managed to pull up top.

Yup blower belt came off on the 3rd run from the c5, so we called it a night. Thanks!

650whp from an F1C? That blower is way out of its efficiency range. Built that motor, up the boost and that thing will be a monster.

From the HP numbers, it would have to be a smaller LS7 cam like the torquer 116.

Dyno #'s are irrelevant when measuring a turbo vehicle(hard to properly load). Trap speed is where it's at. At a private track rental I didn't see any fall below 130mph.
