How is that possible with the options of domed or concave pistons? You honestly don't think that makes a difference? What about a high lift cam? come on master engine builder tell me again that piston deck clearance =crank to deck clearance...lmao

Elementry engine terms?like I said earlier I have built super stock pwc engines for many years that require a lot more skill than you think...all engines use the same basic concept...im also a professional mechanic as I work on engines all day six days a week...what do you do?

We're talking about the definition of simple terms. You fucked up, kiddo. Sorry.
I don't give a **** about your hypothetical build, but if I did, I'd make sure your definitions were correct before I paid any attention.
Thanks!![Thumb](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/thumb.gif)
What does that say about your knowledge if me, someone who isn't a "professional mechanic", knows the definitions of terms that you don't?

But just in case bh353 needs study material:
block deck height = distance from crankshaft to block deck surface
piston deck clearance = distance piston is in/out of the hole.

So how am I wrong with piston deck clearance =distance is in/out of hole? If were talking to different things than that's cool...

Look at this list. http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...Dimensions.pdf
Yep! Ford 302s have the piston 8.2 inches out/in the cylinder bore![Rotflmao](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/rotflmao.gif)

Piston deck clearance is what you're looking for, champ. Now how about YOU go do some reading before you try to talk **** to Hio or anyone else.

Engine BLOCK DECK height has nothing to do with piston to deck height...Who cares about THE BLOCK DECK HEIGHT?I could design a smaller deck height with a shorter rod with a bigger bore and higher compreesion that will rev to the moon

Regardless of build, it's always wise to check PTV. As Heater said, the entire purpose for a taller deck, is to be able to achieve a longer stroke, thus more displacement...

You could also do that with a stroked crank or a bigger bore...It may just be me but I would worry more about ptv clearance that the crank centerline to the top of block..to each their own I guess,im done debating with block depth height when you can describe it two ways...I just know which one would be more important to me...No hard feelings.
