Why even bring up the 5.0s? Lol... a h/c 5.0 can make anywhere from 280rwhp-350+rwhp.. So a h/c 5.0 has plenty of potential to RAPE an lt1.

A h/c 5.0 would rape a bolt on lt1? what does that even prove?

Your reading comprehension really is **** isn't it? Damn school budget cuts.

My bolt-on LT1 "RAPED"(since you like that word so much) a H/C 95 cobra owned by a friend of mine. It was nasty, like 3 cars. My z was a 12.8 car and still put a hurting on a H/C 95 Cobra...a year later once I was H/C I was running 11.7s NA and he was still fighting to get out of 13s.

Old 5.0 has no ******* chance against even remotely similarly modded LT1, it has always been that way.

Now he is stroker+turbo though, and from what I hear makes ~700rwhp. I would still love to run him once my stroker build is done...mine isn't a street car so is a bit different from your standard LT1.

Edit: PS: Next.

That is untrue. I have plenty of vids of my stock block 302 smacking up head cammed Lt1s. They have the advantage in terms of power due to cubes but you can still compete. I know guys who converted to solid roller cams and ran 10s with stock shortblocks. An Lt1 can match it but again anything can happen.

So now you want a h/c 302 to compare to the cam only lt? Come on mike........you proved the point right there that it takes more for the 302.

It does. But if you have light weight and good traction you can hurt feelings. Look at your car. You can just about outrun any head cammed ls1 on here despite them putting out more power than you.

I don't call head/cam vs cam only similar modded.

They CAN be quick...hell, a civic can be quick...but 99% of the time, mod for mod, an LT1 will take a 5.0s lunch money.

That's funny that on here the 350 is so much superior to the 302, but when it comes to the local stock block races, the GM camp insists that the 302 is the equal to the 350 and won't race if they allow the 351 in

I think they are comparing unswapped cars.

Ps you're a ******* moron. As i said 5.0s can make anywhere between 280-350+ to the rear wheels, just because your friends shitty setup didnt outrun you doesnt mean others wont stomp a mud hole in your ***. So you cant lump them all together... And its I that cannot read, ha!

Let me know more about these awesome Lt1s

Did i say anything about their potential? Can you not read either?

He said that 5.0s got anally raped by lt1s, and that is FALSE. Pushrod 5.0s can be equally as potent. FACT. Was that easy enough for someone as highly educated as yourself Mr. Hammer to decipher?

Congrats, H/C 5.0s can catch up to bolt-on LT1s . 1995 called, they want their argument thread back.

"Don't try to argue with idiots, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience" .

True story: I spent a few years living in Long Island growing up on waterfront property, and my father owned a boat. Real nice 70-something 29' Scotty Craft, with the second floor pilots chair and everything. Since it was too big to dock in the creek or in front of the house like most boats, he bolted a chain to a bare 5.0 block and attached a bouy to it for a remote mooring ~300 feet into the bay.

A 5.0 was LITERALLY a boat anchor .
