Having owned both an 01 Z28 and 04 Mach 1, I can honestly say that they are a good race for each other. It really depends on who has more when the two cross paths.
In the past 7 or 8 months, I have posted up 3 runs with bolt-on 4th Gen Camaros.
One was an A4 Bolt-on z28. We did 3 rolls from 40 and each time I pulled 1.5 -2 cars on him.
Recently, I also ran my buddy's (GTOSPD) bolt-on 01 SS Convertible. The first time we ran, we were dead even up to about 120mph. We ran twice with the same outcome both from 40 rolls.
Two weeks later, he put 3" exhaust on his car and had it re-tuned. When we ran again and he pulled me when we hit 4th gear. His car was quick for sure! (Vids are on LS1Tech)
Just saying that the two cars are close enough that depending on the modification done will determine the outcome. Of course, with the larger 5.7l motor as compared to 4.6l, when the number of bolt-ons increase, the scale will tip towards the LS1.
With that said though, this still does not take into consideration the driver or traction. If the higher Hp Camaro is not properly driven or traction is an issue, the two are close enough where a slight spin will change the outcome. Just my opinion though..

Where are all these fast mach's??? Because the fastest one I have ran was cammed with full bolt ons and an auto mach that did 12.0 @ 110 mph to my 12.5 @ 111 mph same day. I can post up the timeslips.
I was on tire, but I don't have a stall.... I have the stock converter. I dont have headers, I have the stock ls1 cam, stock intake manifold, stock diamater ported tb, I don't even have a y pipe.
He had a stall and cams, tb, full exhaust, gears, slicks and skinnies, etc.
I'm failing to see how it is faster or can even can compete with well modified and driven f bodies??????

Easy answer. Machs mid 13s stock and LS1s mid 13s stock. Cars are roughly equal. All that said i would give the edge to the LS1 but could go either way.

So being butt hurt is stating the facts? Hahahha sounds like someones getting upset that the facts don't coincide with their opinion.
