Sorry but an LS3 would slap the **** out a 5.0 every time if both were moving the same weight vehicle. And same gearing. The 5.0 is a lot more comparable to the LS2. And LS1 F-bodies only keep up or win because of their weight advantage.

How am I sugar coating it? A 5th gen m6 1LE is a high 12 second car. I know 3 that have done it. If you are just comparing motors outside they are just about equal. You do realize that the LS3 is a 93 octane tune and the 5.0 is an 87 octane tune right???

But they are not in the same weight car. 5th gen non 1LE is a tad slower thanks to weight and gearing. If you are talking 1LE its a tight race. When was an LS2 used in a Pony car sans the Goat? LS1 Fbodies are slower stock to stock and with same mods the gap increases big time. Plus the 5.0 tune is set up for 87 pump gas. Set it up for 93 and up it to make it equal to the LS stuff and the result might surprise you. Get experience with both cars before posting such nonsense.
