Default Lexus GS430 was fast...

The funniest thing happened today driving in to work. It was mid afternoon and traffic was light. I was cruisen down the freeway at 70 in a two lane when I approach a champagne colored mid size luxury sedan. He was side by side with another car and was keeping me at 70.

Well, he started to accelerate more and then we had an open strecth so I figure I would zip around him and go on my way. But that is not how it worked out. Instead he took off hard and blew some smoke. "what the hell?", right?

So I gun it right behind him and catch up from being a handfull of cars back and we continue until just over 110!!!

I was surprised because I was barely pulling him in until after 100.

Anyhow, there was traffic up ahead and we both slowed our crazy asses down. Good thing too. Up ahead there was a cop pacing an overloaded truck. I am pretty sure he saw us speed up.

We got lucky *** hell though because we cruised by at 60 and the cop stayed with truck. Further down the freeway I pulled alongside this GS430 Lexus and the guy driving had to be in his early 60's. We look at each other like "phew!" and smile. Pretty ******* cool guy. I could not beleive it and was still laughing about it at work.

Anyhow, I was real surprised this Lexus was hangin from 70 to 100.

Looks to be right on par w/ a stock GT.

Wooooo, thats hot. A family car that would give a GT stang a run for its money. Now that means it is either quick for a family sedan, or slow for a "sports car".

Those performance numbers are underrated too. The reason for the 14.3 second 1/4 is in the way the car shifts. Like butter, and slow, for comfort. In third gear on the freeway, it doesnt surprise me that it'd give an LS1 a run for it's money. They're pretty quick for what they are

Looks like a Mercedes rip off, but I give it credit...pretty decent go for what it's designed for.

The reason it didn't seem like you pulled on him very hard was because he had a good jump on you. If you two would have started side by side at the same time you would have busted his *** much worse.
