Sorry no video. Ran up on a kona blue 5.0 the other day at a stoplight. He threw a few revs. Told him I can't grab traction too good. So we agreed on a 30 roll. we hit it from a 30 roll and shut down around 90. From what i could tell i had about 2 cars on him. Seems like half way thru the race i had the 2 cars. Then it seemed like i couldnt pull anymore and he didnt gain any. Got to the next light and asked him if he had any mods. He said just axleback. I would have figured atleast a cai. But he didnt mention it. He was a m6 that i could tell. Im pretty impressed with the way the 5.0 cars seem to run. I know it's not Christian to say this on here. Lol. But the 2015 mustangs are starting to grow on me. I might have to take a leap to the dark side this spring.

Yeah I wasn't sure how the outcome was going to be to be honest. I haven't had too many runs with the car. I did have a charger around a 08 model. Rt. Some kid with 30 day tag on it. Was messing with me on the highway. Se we went from around 60 to 110 or so. I had about 5 to 6 cars on him. I'm pretty sure he was stockish and I know their heavy. That was a day after the 5.0 run.

don't feel bad, dude probably "forgot" to mention it had a tune which is the best mod you can do on those cars. tune/catback they are running the mph and times that a basic boltons/cam LS1 fbody is running. Hell, I don't even screw around when I'm dealing with a 5.0 that doesn't sound bone stock because a full bolton/tune/summer tire/gears 5.0 will make my car work for the win.

I do really need to get a set of heads if I decide not to go over to the darkside.

That's true. The 5.0's are a whole other animal to the 4.6 I remember when I had my cam and bolt on gto and was putting down 423rwhp. and my friend has a 06 gt. with some boltons and a 100shot. and he only put down 391 at the wheels.

very true.....no nothing was needed for those cars.
You should have 0 issues with a full bolt-on 5.0.
This......there are key areas some just over look. One area specifically gm cars has been at a disadvantage FOREVER. Once that is evened out or take the advantage back.....look out.

That area would be RPM's right hio? Combo of restrictive exhausts and small duration cams really held back the LS1/2/3/6 engines. I honestly think that GM would have reaped notable gains in gas mileage and emissions if they had just matched the parts better from the factory: all LS1's should have had a LS6 cam sized cam at minimum, LS6 should have had a LS7 sized cam, and LS7 should have had something with a bit of rump-te-dump to it.

That's one of them. Of course the cam dictates rpm range somewhat but it can be free'd up some. The ls1 was fine as is for the entry of that engine.......it set the world on it's ear as it was.
