In all seriousness he seems to know a thing or two, and has had experience building some fun little projects. I just think he is under estimating a 302 with modern parts in it. He also fails to admit the bore size is a disadvantage for the 305 even with whatever tricks he is doing to remedy it. Really he just doesn't want to admit I am right about it

The outcome of the challenge will speak for itself.

92 Silver and I will be thrashing each other a lot. A V8 Miata with ET streets is unhomo'd. The driver has never had a problem with that.

I think Hammer is spot on. Engines are air pumps, obviously to make power you have to have airflow both in and out of the cylinder. Sure there are other things that are important but you aren't going to make power without getting the air/fuel in and the exhaust gases out.

I also think he has a plan to do so and I would't tell us either.

The CFI is horrible beyond words, but I can't really do much to that car since it's a 30th anniversary car with all of the original stuff that came with it. Roughly 4K of them made.

They instead employed machined slots to guide the pushrods, resulting in pushrod interference with any rocker arms over about 1.60:1, even with the stock cam. These iron L-98 heads have only adequate ports and Fred Flintstone-era combustion chambers.

hoping to start on it early jan, and have it complete april. runs are supposed to be made mid summer. no winter hero runs will be applicable since we can't all make winter runs.

There is info out there that go both ways on the heads.......I would prefer the aluminum myself. But in reality if I were doin a sbc build I would not use either these days.

Lt1 heads are pretty good. Very minor port work and they are capable of goin well into the 11's( lt's have been there with just bolt-ons). I would not call them crap. If they are crap then what Is all this furd **** we see?

This is my favorite sbc head. It's very versatile.

This is why you are the biggest whiny bitch on the site - talking SBC heads and you have to show your little man's syndrome and bring up Fords.

Man, Fords really make you all sorts of insecure and it shows

I have to agree with Snake. It had finally settled down in here and someone had to throw a rock and break a window.

I can't even imagine the crap slinging if there was a Mopar in the competition. Someone needs to enter a Dodge.

We have made enough exceptions, it's not a 5.0.

We wouldn't be out classed. With factory heads, it would struggle to get into the mid 13s.
