Default 06 GTO (Auto) vs 04 MACH (M5)

My buddy called me and mentioned that he recently got a retune on his 06 GTO and was wondering if it made any difference. His car was running very rich. In addition, he recently installed a 3100 stall converter and was having issues with transmission shift points and the converter locking up. Seems like this tuner got everything worked out. His car ran damn strong today!

I met up with him today for a run.......Mods are in the vid. Sorry for the wind noise.

Nice job! Coming from the modular 2, 3 and 4 valve myself I've never seen a cammed Mach hit 370 rwhp. With heads yes but otherwise no. They were always in the 340 ish range. So nothing done to the heads at all?

Yeah he seemed to lose momentum between shifts, then creep back. Maybe she needs to be spun a few more RPM's.

She might need 4.33's or so too with the cams.

6900 rpms. Rev limiter set at 7K

Edit: BTW, was that a good "surprising outcome" or a dig? lol

Man! Hammer you do see it all! I agree totally with your statement.

I have to say that I cannot shift nowhere near as fast as his trans is shifting. I had my foot planted and shifting my *** off but his converter/trans was just to much. The tuner is now locking his converter also.

No head work, or ported intake, cats still on and only mid-lengths. Still on stock 24lbs injectors and 80mm maf. All my mods are listed below. I keep them updated.

I have 39lb injectors and an 85mm maf going in soon. Just saving up for the retune. PA Racing tubular K member going in also.

No. SPEC Stage II with Fidanza aluminum flywheel, FRP aluminum drive shaft. Removed as much weight as I could, off the drive-train

Ah cool. I wonder if she needs to be spun a little higher yet. You're basically at stock redline.

The cams continue to make power but I did not want to spin it higher than 7K. Hate to beat on her. LOL

I understand that. But it's probably part of the reason you're falling back that bad after the shifts. 4.6 4v's hate dropping out of their powerband

Thanks man. Appreciate it and sorry to disappoint.

Actually, my other buddy (GTOSPD on LS1Tech) "had" an 06 GTO but in a manual. He made 373rwhp and 370rwtrq. I ran right beside him. The difference is he was in the same boat I was and manually shifting. The auto trans with the converter just continues to make power. I am assuming a lot has to do with locking the converter.
