A Wild 5Bro Appears
So I'm heading home with a few friends in the car... My master cylinder has been giving me **** recently since i replaced it, so my shifts take super effort and take 2-3 seconds before they go in... Because of that, I wasn't planning on racing. HOWEVER...
I'm in the middle lane doing 60ish. I see a red 5.0 merging in to my right, and we're both about side by side. I downshift, and almost immediately, he takes off... I plant my foot in it and close the car he managed to jump on me. I pull about 2 cars and then I have to shift into 4th... Lovely. 2 seconds later, when the gear decides it wants to go in... he's at my door again, side by side with me. I keep my foot planted in 4th and put at least another 3 lengths before I let off at ~130.
We get to a spot where we can't run anymore because now the highway is curved. Eventually it straightens out, and while I'm talking **** about the first run... He highbeams me.
So now I think he wants to actually line it up again. I slow down from 60 to 50, and he's pacing me. I keep slowing down. Slow down to 40, and he's pacing me, at my door. I honk 3 times and I don't know what the **** he managed to **** up (wrong gear in his paddle shift or some ****? maybe it was an MT82?), but this was the outcome...
I pull the **** out of him on the 40 roll, and you can hear how long it takes me to throw into 3rd thanks to this master. I let off at top of 3rd with a bus length and the thoughts of saving my synchros. Its at this time... that he does a RICER FLYBY ON ME. All I could say was 'be mad *****' and then left.
He had a female passenger. I had 3 passengers (1 of which is my friend who weighs a lean 200+), a trunk with my old 3.73 center carrier from my differential, jack, stands, 10 quarts of oil, a milk crate with a whole bunch of tools, mityvac bleeder, and a bunch of other crap.
The best run was the 60 in which he never got ahead of me, ever, but I'll take smoking a 5bro who highbeams me, paces me, and then ***** up. LOL
CLIFFS:
-5.0 and CTS-V
-V has 3 passengers, Bro has 1.
-First 60 roll not caught on vid, but 5.0 loses by 3 car lengths to 130 (could have been worse due to hydraulic issue)
-5.0 Highbeams for rematch and paces V
-V honks 3x and 5.0 does small lurch and then gets bus lengthed
-5.0 ricer flyby
-5.0 mad

Good run OD! Could you tell if he had exhaust at least or was it basically quiet?
On a side note, I'm amazed at how many 5.0 deaths I have seen in the past week on Tech. Is the 5.0 getting slower? lol

Milled LS3 heads, LS3 top end (injectors, intake mani, etc), Cammed LS2, 8.8 rear, bolt ons. Setup should be good for high teens in the 1\4.
LOL I don't think so but anything happens on the skreet! I had a confident and easy pull on the 5.0 tho on the 60. With this hydraulic issue sorted, It should be worse. Car doesn't shine until top end. Its always been like that, it seems. I haven't had chance to put my MT on either.
It made a good noise the one time he stepped on it during the 60 when he took the hit merging in and I downshifted and planted it. But unsure if it was stock or not because it wasn't really loud. My cars decently loud and drowned him out. I would think if it did have an exhaust, it would have sounded a bit louder tho.
As for all the deaths...
I just think the 5.0 is actually taking to the streets instead of to the web.
LOL Aww man. Unfortunately, Literally. I feel bad for that. Had to cover his wings while waiting on the tow. Least I could do.
