And even so, people just haven't realized that it can and does outperform a lot of the exotics like Ferrari, Porsche, Lambroghini, etc. on road race courses and tracks. On most tracks, having less horsepower is not as much of a disadvantage as having more weight, which the other cars do. How many v-8 cars weigh 3100 lbs or less? One of the biggest contributors to cornering speed is weight, due to the physics of changing the direction of an object in motion. So if you have a great chassis and suspension to go with the light weight, you have a real contender on any road race course. And 405 hp is nothing to sneeze at.

Horse power is way kooool...but torque is KING... 400 ft. lbs is a monsta #...

F355 sounds more like an F1 car than a "chainsaw on steroids", but thanks for the comment.

F1 cars sound like chainsaws on steriods too...tune in a f1 race and then tune in a nascar race or better yet tune in a american le mans series race and listen to the cars as they go by chainsaws on steriods except 4 the C5R...american V8 power sure sounds a whole lot better than the ying ying of the rest of them

By the way, the reason why the ls1/6 are great motors is simply because of the heads these things have from the factory. They are designed so well that simple mods like a cam, nitrous and bolt ons open up a ton of power!

Gray
The heads were designed by the same guy that did the bowtie nascar heads for chevy...he has his $hit 2gether
