I'm a big fan of the 5.0 but it's no match for an LS3 inside a much lighter/aerodynamic Corvette. Something definitely isn't right with either that C6, or the driver.

Doesn't "Longtubes" imply it also has a mid-pipe? Intake/full exhaust/great tune/tire low-optioned 5.0 I could see running 118-120mph. But an LS3 Vette runs that stock and tops out at 190mph...I fail to see how the Mustang could ever have the advantage if driven equally.

Agreed. My bone stock LS3 A6 has had zero problems with any 5.0 from a roll yet.
I took it to OSW Friday night made 3 passes for a baseline.
Bone stock 1st pass 12.36 @ 116.46 (1900 ft. DA W/ heat soaked engine, trans in D)
2nd pass 12.009 @ 119.88 (took air filter out & it cooled off, put trans in sport mode)
3rd pass 12.088 @ 119.80 (DA dropped to about 1700 ft.)
Best pass corrects to a 11.78 @ 122.26 mph @ 0 DA

I stayed door to door with a 2014 C7 A6 from a 70 roll up to 150mph on my way back from the track he had a passenger, I did not.
Funny how 5.0 guys point at ls guys for hiding mod yet they do the same here. Both parties do it so it's whatever just ironic. But ya that car should be a decent race for a ls3 c6 bone stock. Should have went way different here but it is what it is.

I like 5.0's as much as the next guy but they are NOT an equal race, stock or mod for mod for an LS3 vette. I don't think it takes a whole lot to beat one but thats not the point.
I have the stock 19/18's that came on 2012's with original goodyear runflats.
I didn't see that 2015 5.bro's better runs. He definitely had aftermarket wheels/tires but I don't think the bling factor was helping his times any lol
