Good that no one was seriously injured. That was a nasty bump to race over.

This is why I only race on Mexican roads that I'm familiar with. Only takes a little unexpected bump like that to kill you.

In the original post, wasn't it well known that there was a bump there since that area had been raced through multiple times?

Shitty either way.

Dumbasses. Is it really that difficult to check the spot you're running before running it? Did he also have active handling off?

Agreed. Agreed. Do you think active handling will save you @ 800hp and @ 150mph? You think GM engineers have that good of reactive assist features? Those baby sitters don't help much past 75mph @ stock power levels.

Considering I've seen it saving people's asses on tracks before at 100+ mph, it can certainly do some good.
That being said, simply running once before and noticing that there is a GIANT bump/dip would have solved this.

I saw this on another forum, the cameraman/op said he was well aware of this bump and they hit that bump in the past. Complete idiots for running a road with a known bump like that. I'm glad nobody else was hit or injured but I don't feel bad for the ones that raced if they knew about it prior to the race. Just stupid and they're lucky it wasn't worse.

Hi, camera man/idiot checking in.

I knew of the bump, but honestly before this, I was fearless and didn't really pay much attention to it. We had hit it countless times with cars of all power levels, it's enough to throw you around for sure, but it was more than just the bump that caused us to wreck.

Did this experience open my eyes a little? Yes! Now I know to ride with and if we're on a strange road, my *** is staying in the parking lot or if I'm driving I let off at any sign of a bump!

I think you're possibly confusing the driver aids for saves more then the driver. I have had a C5, C6, and now the V all with those driver aids, and I can tell you once you're near 500 whp, they do almost nothing to help. they are reactionary. By that i mean with enough power and torque on tap the tires will have been spinning for some time before the system says "oh fu_k" It is better with the entire system up I'll give you. But in sport mode (traction off, active handling on) it will most likely not save you. You have a better chance with it all on if you're not an experienced driver maybe, but you're dealing with a system setup for 430 FWHP any thing grossly over that the system laughs at you.

If you do not believe me go try it. Go to an open parking lot doing I don't know, how about 45mph, I'll even give you stock power levels for this test. Then go to drift or spin the car with your foot buried in the throttle. I guarantee you'll do a 180 at a min before it shuts you down. Add in 100 mph and you sir, will be proper forked. hell, even doing a donut in the car with the system full up, you'll get it near 360.
