Default The PHOENIX goes down

I know this is not a kill in the racing sense, but I do most of my posts in this section and most of the people I talk with on the board are from this section, so I'd appreciate it, Unit and Bronco, if this could just slide.

I was going to take my GF to her aunts house when I come up to this intersection, doing the speed limit. I am approaching the intersection in the right lane that has 3-4 cars already in it. So I switch lanes to the left which has no traffic, just as the light is turning green. I notice that the lead vehicle in the right lane is a truck, so I look to my right to see around it as I go through the intersection. I always do this watching for someone to run the light. As soon as I get there, I see a silver '97 Malibu hesitate his braking and tries to run it. I would have gotten hit either way. If I braked, he would have just got the front of the car. So I try to give it a little more gas, praying he'd miss me. No such luck. I got tagged on the rear passenger side. His front liscence plate was stuck between what was left of my rim and the tire. I spun a 180, in doing so, my rear drivers side bumper was taken off by the turn signal light in the median. I cracked the rear driver side rim on the curb. All of us are OK, to include the dumbass who ran the light. Both his front airbags deployed, cracking the windshield, and his front bumper was taken off. The part that pissed me off was her little 3 year old son was in the back passenger side seat, in his childseat, where the impact was hardest.

So after coming to a stop facing oncoming traffic in the right lane, I check the GF and boy and get out on foot to take the guys plate number down if he ran. I get there and the guys out of it, all dazed and confused. I tell him to give me his liscence and insurance. Stupid *** MF says..."Why?"
I say, "Because you just hit me you ************!" Off duty cop witnesses the whole thing, comes over, I chill out after speaking my mind to that dumbass, and get a police report. Dude didn't even come over and apologize. I felt it was better for his sake, I was SO fired up. The guy was in his late forties early fifties. I swear the nerve of some *************. If that off duty cop weren't there as I got there to that guy I might have punched him for saying that ****, AFTER RUNNING A RED LIGHT.

No, but didn't get a good look under the car to see any "total- worthy" damage.
Mostly body damage from the outside.
Thanks Southie.

Ouch dude, sounds like a badass accident. I'm glad to hear everyone is okay and it sucks the car was f'd up so bad. Definately use this oppurtunity to it's fullest "yeah, my car came stock with a 9 inch with 4.11 gears and a jet engine attached to the back (must've fallen off during the accident)..."

Damn man, that ****** sucks. I will let this slide for a while.

Just get everything back together and at least everyone is ok. Have a good one and get it all fixed with a new cam, and rear axle

Sorry to hear that. The self control thing is where I have a little problem myself. It pisses me off that another f-bod gets smacked up by no fault of your own. I know if it were mine, I may not have been able to behave. Glad you're alright, and hopfully you'll be up and runnin' in no time.

Sorry about your car Bro, I'm glad to hear everyone's ok
I lost my SS(conv) last summer to a drunk driver. He broad (pass side) sided my wife and daughter at about 30-35 MPH, luckily it was behind her door and my daughter was on the opposite side. Everyone was fine!

Pushing 4 G's. They might give me a new Magnaflow exhaust cause of the bent tip. They still haven't done a tear down yet to check the frame and inside of rear. So it might go up. Plus I'm waiting to hear some noise from the axle that was never there before. So they can at least relieve the tension headache my car didn't have before.

Should have gotten my car today, but they called early in the morning saying that when they finally got the chance to do the alignment, they found out I needed a new axle. Now it looks like another week or so. Oh well. I'll be holding down the ricers with the cavalier for now.

This sucks. I was planning on cruising/ looking for trouble today since I was off. Oh, well.
