Definetly, I know of some quick tvs cars that just have the roush blower, not even the gen ll tvs inlet and they are quick. A 150hit on a plate is addictive though and much cheaper if you have a good source for bottle fills. You could always rent a cylinder yourself.

Dodge has the new ZF 8 speed tranny's set up really well. If you bump the gear selector over it is full manual mode and will ride the rev limiter if not shifted. "best in my opinion for doing a manually gear selected burn out." The temporary manual mode is the best of both worlds for racing. You tap one of the paddles and it won't shift UNLESS it makes it to it's programmed shift point RPM. So if I am doing a roll I tap it down to whatever gear I want, go WOT and the car will shift it self once it winds out to it's programmed shift point. It will hold gears and not up shift as well unless you hold the paddle putting it into regular mode or manually shift it yourself.
Nothing is better than letting your car shift at all she's got left before the next gear if it is making power. When my car used to shift at 6,150 on the nose. It was awesome and just kept pulling. It shifts at 5,700 after the tune which really pisses me off because peak power is 5,900 RPM.
I don't really know why they would have set it like that but when I hold it out every little bit of RPM it's faster as long as I don't hit limiter

I raced these people an hour south of me with a super charged 5 gen and a turbo evo and I showed them all my mods they still wouldn't believe I didn't have nitrous. It was a lot of fun.
I was pulling on the fifth gen and the video guys following said I had nitrous and that I lied about my mods

Easily done as long as it's not a stroked, 6.2 block swap like your bolt-on cah Hammah.
Just being honest, but the LS1 doesn't compare to the 5.0. The advantage the 4th gen guys have is power to weight. Drop a Yote in a 4th gen, and the car will go a second quicker in the 1/4 stock vs stock.
I haven't even found a decent race yet in my car... just one highway race with a 5th gen(yeah... he didnt win).

A month after I bought my Scat Pack I had a yellow L99 with auto bot emblems follow me and pull up next to me at the light......LOL Dude was actually really nice and saw I had the dealer tags still. He asked if I was enjoying the car. I was like OHH YEA! This was after the train parade I put on it.

Newer cars may be coming out of the factory with more Horsepower today but much of it is being negated by the extra weight they are packing. I think this is what keeps races between a 5.0 and an LS1 close.
I think the difference in Hp only shows itself on the top end but not acceleration.

I always felt that you really can't fault a car for coming out of the factory at a lower weight. It seems that today's car are getting fatter each year. This may be because of safety equipment or better interiors and sound deadening. Whatever the reason, this weight difference can keep a race closer that you would imagine between older and newer cars.
