^ Agreed. Everyone had there own way of adjusting the tranny cable off the TB. Raptor Transmissions actually made a little fix for that. It's a tiny little spring between two little plastic washers, kinda. Worked Great!

The fix for that would be to shift the auto trans yourself.......although that was usually not implemented in standard testing procedure. We would shift dads auto tpi car ourself. I had a 305 monza back then. It ran a 15.1 @91 mph.....his iroc would wax that thing.
I've got an L98 IROC at my disposal, it's a slug. Doesn't matter if it's manually shifted or automatically shifted, it's a slug. I've got a pig of a lincoln Mark VIII and it would walk it like a dog.

My way of adjusting the cable is to call Hammer from the track.

Not so sure a mark8 lincoln is walking anything like a dog. It's a 15 sec car.

Maybe your l98 is not running right. It shoukd easily run 14s in good running order. Mm l98 vette has been low 13s with very few mods.

The only 15 second Mark VIII's were the 97-98 cars. The one I have is a 96 LSC. Better exhaust and a 3.27 posi rear end. Easily a mid 14 second car. The LSC cars trap 95-97MPH stock. The IROC runs fine, it's just a slug. 2.77 gears don't help it any.

Little more to the story than that. You wouldn't correct times because you needed the da advantage. His car had a 350 but on the 305 tune because someone changed it. It woulda likely ran better with the 305 in it vs the 350 with a 305 tune. And you needed a weight advantage.

snake's 302 has done better than any SBE 305 on here. It even caused Hamski's 305 to morph into a 357 or some chit.

Owned both setups. L98 TPI, and 93 Mark8. The mark has like 259 gears, & a Peg Leg. Something crazy like that. And it's a Heavy Biotch! Great Cruiser & Highway car. Loved it. Loved the interior. And did handle Great with the IRS, and the Bags. But if that Kills youre L98 car. There's alot wrong there! Maybe way up top end. But not 1/8 or 1/4. NO WAY!!!

Or your L98 Iroc, is likely an LO3 or some ****. That has 379K miles. And hasnt had a tune up in 20 years. And reg maintinence.

So it's my fault that from the factory, my car was slightly lighter? Looks like everyone on the road needs to add ballast to be as heavy as the heaviest car Do you comprehend how ******* ignorant you look? My car was BONE stock. All smog, all everything, zero weight taken out. I even wrote a note on the weight slip for you, if you remember.

Yeah I've heard your "the 350 was at a disadvantage compared to a 305" story before, and I laugh a little more every time I hear it.

Have you ever agreed to corrected times?

Have you ever agreed to match race weight?

Have you even raced your cars in the last 2+ years?
