Poppa vs 95prpl

We met a few weeks back at the local 1/8th mile track.. ran a couple of times(rev limiter 1st run for me, and wheel spin 2nd run for him). We have been trying to set up a day to get some rolls in, and were able to yesterday.


GT weighs 3600lbs (scale certified) w/o driver
SS weighs 3640lbs (Owner weighed his) w/o driver

With drivers, both cars are very close in rwhp, raceweight, and would most likely trap within 1 mph of each other.

I do believe I am the only person in here who knows just how fast Poppas car is from a roll. I cannot believe the SS was like that fast. I honestly would have put money on Poppas from the roll.

LBO Yep... takes mods for the 5.0 to keep up with the new 6gens. They are quick. Hopefully Ford has an answer in 2018. I love these kind of races anyway... Door to door action.

Well, they were close races, but mine seems to want to pull up top.. like 95prpl... I wish we could have ran the races higher... would have been able to find out if my pull could be stopped in that last gear. We stopped 120-130 range.

This video is the straw that broke the camels back. I will be getting a blue M6 6th gen in a few years. Mods will be Borla s type exhaust, and MGW shifter.

So tune and E85 15+ GT is enough to pull a 2016 SS.... Says a lot about both cars, Both are very quick from the factory. I would love to see the SS with an E85 tune and a re-race to see how evenly modded ones run together!

Very Nice! Good close runs. It seemed that Poppa did have a slight pull up top but that could be because of the difference in mods.
Great vid, Poppa and you got your stang moving nicely.

6th Gen looks killer! Really sweet car and damn quick!

E85+tune on the SS should give it the win. DI picks up a lot with e85. I wouldn't want it on my car though.
