2016 gt350

They take a beating but dont listen to much. They are a great platform; handles damn well(with the right suspension), very rigid chassis, comfortable, and they respond well to mods. Recipe is simple; light wheels, great exhaust, cammed and or full boltons and youre up for a nice ride. They have a bad rep because too many plp bought em for style only. Bad drivers with go-slow mods(huge and heavy wheels with body kits/stickers/lambo doors/ big *** sub woofers, etc).
They have big brakes, unlike cheap *** 5.0 brakes, so wheels cost a lot. How many Mustangs are rolling on drag wheels versus 5th gen?...right there its a 80-100lbs shaving!

I haven't kept up with the new stangs but figured with fbo ones making in the upper 400s it sounded possible with the 350 setup. I did see where JDM put one on a lightly modded stang and it picked up over 60rwhp and 40rwtq.

I work at a ford dealer and I rag on the gt350s to my managers all the time lol. They are nice cars but dig racing and 1/4 just arent there strong points. The tires need good heat for them to hook..unless you puss out and use the launch control. You really need to wind them out to stay in the powerband. The strongs points are on a circuit..through them through some twisties and it will come alive. They get alot of praise but ask many of these shelby gt350 owners how quick it takes to overheat 1 after 20mins of pounding and it goes to limp mode. If your making 450whp or close...and dont weigh over 3500lbs..go spank on one and it should be damn close. Id much rather get a new z/28 as it will be a shelby killer in 2017!

About time they came out with a mustang that can handle the "pig" 5g. I've been wanting them to come out with a car other than the GT that handles.
Wonder how it stacks up to a zo6, or a viper in a real world street race

You can fit any wheels over those tiny rear brakes so its easier and more affordable to bolton a drag setup for the average guy. That was the point.

This past winter (not very much of a winter down here) a white with blue stripes gt350 went 11.7 @ 121. Same night a buddies 4th gen 215tfs/custom cam/ fast 92 yank converter/4l60 car was going 11.1-11.2 @ 120-121.

I saw a Z/28 for under $50k. Kind of a steal despite the fifgen getting a lot of hate on here.
You can get a really nice C6Z for GT350 money...
but if you want a new car with full warranty, flat plane crank V8, and back seats (albeit useless) then I guess you'd buy a GT350.
