Actually the zl1 doesn't. My buddy had the zl1 stick record for 2 years on c5. Full sausage 396 car, and couldn't beat my stock motor car. Waaaay more cubes and same size blower. Ouch

That really is the North American ZL1 record.... And couldn't beat my stock motor car at the same track, same day, pb to pb....let that sink in a bit. Lol

No I didnt. I said they alter lift like a cam. Didnt say it gained same power. Rockers are good for 15-20rwhp on the LS3. Dont believe me? Prove me wrong

I took a quick look online earlier to see what a LS3 will gain with just rockers and no tune and didn't really find anything. But if I had to guess 15whp aprox.

It did say that the more aggressive the cam the less the gains would be. Like l99 would gain and a DOD 6.0 would gain more than a ls3 in a camaro ss. Pretty interesting
So your tune and the guy you raced recentlys rockers may have been a wash with a few HP your way possibly.

That is "rockers only" with no other internal mods.


So this week I learned a 5.bro will gap a 5g mod for mod. But go rockers only on a 1le and it turns into a rocket ship.

stock 5th gen. Just add rockers.

Stock coyote. Just add e85.

An e85 tune is worth ~30rwhp total. 10-15 over 93 tune.

rockers worth 15 total.

An e85 tune gains more hp than rockers. Period. End of discussion.

I honestly think My E85 to his rockers were a wash.. yeah. So we are left with the 30rwhp he gained with the long tube headers over my stalk manifolds, cai, and ported intake(and probably port matched the intake to the heads while it was off)

I probably had a few more hp in the tune than he had in his.. but not enough to make up the difference of the other stuff.

His car runs good, and I have utmost respect for Phil. He good people.

He had a tune. i had a tune. E85 over my 93 octane added 10-15. Rockers over his modified tuning added 15-20. Not hard to comprende mang.

Lolz!! With that mentality. Power is in the tune. Take stock 5g and stock s550, add rockers to 5g and it gains 15whp. Put e85 in the s550's tank and it gains nothing, might not even run or run extremely poor. So the rockers gain more power. Fact.

After talking ALL this mess on how the 5g is totally inferior and was gonna get "gapped". How it needed H/C/I/E to have a chance at keeping up with a 3 mod bro.... Several videos have now been posted that show otherwise, bros still in denial and now revert to the "mod for mod" argument, while down playing their mods and up playing he 5G's. PNWED.
