WOT throttle launches with an aftermarket m6 pulling 1.4 60 ft is now a disadvantage to a stock converter auto launching off idle?

just when I thought things couldn't get more desperate

I know I am just caught in the middle. I am not taking anything personally. Thats why I am only posting facts about my car so everyone has an even playing field to debate upon. If it wasnt for this thread I wouldnt know anything about the new 5.0's. I did do about 5 runs with a 15' 5.0 when I was bone stock and had about 400 miles on the car. He said he was CAI, Exhaust, Tune, 3.73, M6. We were dead even. He told me I should have smashed him but that simply wasn't the case. He said he put down 410/406rw on the same dyno I use. The most I have done on that dyno on Pump in 5th is 410/425rw. Not sure what it would have done in 6th. In stock configuration I did 375/386rw in 6th IIRC.

​​​​​​​That 1.46 60ft is legit in a manual. My best in a M car has been 1.51. Mph at the 1/8 is basically even. My car sucks on the top end. I am getting to the bottom of that though. I actually think I could go faster if this car was a M6. That is what I am used to. The stock converter isn't doing me any favors.

Nice, that's awesome. Good luck with it.

​​​​​​​With complete adjustability of the intake and exhaust cams in the 5.0's, do cams help much? I understand being limited by total lift and duration if the individual lobes but I figured being able to manipulate both cams you could basically pick your lobe sep and when each does what. This could potentially eleminate the need for more real duration and lift.

I'm sure you will. You're almost there. I'm just amazed that none of these bolt on cars with more mods than you have done it. For all the talk from the hiocrew about how great the 6th gen is you would think everyone would be going 10s with bolt ons.

Well....cman has never been 126. Cman with similar mods probably never left the 12s.

Cman and i would be very close. He's got alot of mph to pick up tho.

So far none of the 5br0s on here has went nearly as fast as pray.

Thanks buddy and I wish you luck as well. Your off to a good start. Much better than me. I've had some bad luck with this car making it a very long road. Cams help some yes but from the people that have done both, it seems that ported heads do more than cam's. I won't know for sure until I've done both as I like go just speak about what power did on my car vs others. I haven't been on dyno since the cams but when I do I'll shoot ya a PM.

So Hio now you are going to tell me what cam I need or don't need? Did it ever occur to you maybe 'I want' a cam for my car? Did it also occur to you I did/am not building this car as a track monster?

Again will I take it to the track? Hell yes but it's not my intentions (M6). Just keep **** talking my build and the 2016 Z06 I'm working on (buddy's) as it obviously makes your day.
