'99 H/C bolt on SS vs 6th gen SS vs orange s550 Coyote
Yesterday while on the freeway a black 6th gen with white stripes decides to mess with me. I follow him onto an empty HWY and he slows to 60mph. Not sure if he was auto or manual (I'm a 6-speed). Anyhow, we line up and I hit it right after he does and by mid 4th or so I pull 1-5-2 cars on him. I was surprised I beat him. Does that sound right??
The day before that I lined up with a very loud newer 5.0 and he seemed maybe a little faster than the 6th gen

You being faster makes sense but......a lot of it has to do with your set up. Not all H/C are equal. I am also curious to know more details about your set up as well.

They are listed at 3680 with a full tank. Been scaled at well under 3600 bone stock just from having less fuel
390 is your average to low rwhp for an a8 as well. The average is probably closer to 400. Especially since most are not run in the proper gear because the dyno won’t allow it due to speed. 5th is used which is consistent ~20 rwhp less than 6th.
But yeah I agree a heads cam 4th should take a stock 6gen.

I was recently at a dyno day at HHP here in Houston, I watched three 6th A8 gens dyno and all made 390-395 rwhp...highest was a stick car at 404rwhp. 5.0 A6 Mustangs were also making 380-390 rwhp.

The last stock 5.0 a6 I seen made 363 rwhp
Thought you were talking weight of 6g with no driver.
3500 with driver is pretty light for a stock 4th gen. My no option 98 m6 with spare removed and 1/4 tank was right at 3300. So ~3400 with full tank factory curb weight. About 280 lbs less than a 6g imo
