255,000 mile ls1 vs cobalt ss
So long winded question. 2000 trans am a4 2.73 car. just a muffler went 9.3 with a 2.3 60 ft and 2600 da so ya terrible. Anyhow don't have good benchmarks for my car and can't tell if it runs healthy or not the track says no and I say ehh (my old one had 3.23 and felt way faster with a lid and slp catback). Butttt I have some buddies with cobalts, the sc cobalt has a 2.8 pulley, 3 inch intake, header zzp catback, zzp tune, bigger heat exchanger, plan b etc pretty well done up for an m62 car. I on average put about 2 cars from 40-120. Other guy has a stock lnf ss and I beat him about the same maybe a lil worse than the m62 car. Now the other cobalt is also an lnf and has charge pipes, down pipe/exhaust, intercooler, and max effort tune. He gets me by a car/car and a half at best from 40-135. This makes me feel like it runs strong so any other input would be great. Have a stock s550 I'm gonna run to get an idea how badly I get capped. Fyi I've seen the bolt on cobalt take on some good cars and win or be very close so I don't think it runs bad by any means but I could be wrong

And just so it's known the car has almost 256,000 miles on it, pretty fresh trans but the motor is all original eats oil like crazy(needs valve seals shes a smoker) and could use an oil pump but doesn't skip a beat. So this is also something to think about

2.73 gears bring all the butthurt. Ask me how i know. Keep those giant top end monsters in there. Your car might need a little maintenance with a quarter million miles on it, but seems to run good on the street. There are infinite variables at the track. The street is where you see the car's true performance.

A mild aftermarket converter and some tires would really help. And your friends won't even notice. Circle D has a 278 mm converter that flashes to 3200 and improves the shift extensions from stock. It's only like five hundred bucks and he allowed me to send it back and gave me $200 credit towards a more serious converter when I decided to step up my game. Then you can pretend that there is something wrong with your friend's car and watch them panic. What you figure out which direction you want to go with your build then step up to whatever converter you need.

rebuild is coming waiting till I can afford another motor if some of the bearings are to worn to mess with in this one I won't bother I'll swap it. Car is a toy doesn't bother me I just keep it full!

The street is where you see what a car can really do. Every racer knows this, buckwheat. Pay attention, for Christ's sake.

Here's a video of me assraping a bolt on LT1 in my first GTP. The guy videoing wasn't a douche bag, so the evidence didn't get suppressed. Ive beaten lots of cars in the past on video but they get deleted immediately, because i won, and would have more **** to talk. I get under lots of skins! The owner of that LT1 still gets pissed when he sees this video.
