Default Crappy fbody vs sbc nova

No video. There is a nice 68-72 Nova in my neighborhood. Sounds nice and I've thought about trying to buy it but never got the chance to talk to him. I was turning right on to a feeder road and guess who pulls up behind me? I turned and waited for him to pull beside me ready to honk it off or whatever but he hit it as soon as he turned. He was coming up fast but I waited until he was about a car length from my rear bumper, hoping my 4k converter and 3.89 gears would help. I thought he would blow past me because my last time out was a 12.50 @ 106. Hit it probably around 20-30 mph. Stopped his pull and gained a little and he let out. I let out probably around 80 - 90. The ole fbody gained a little at first but he would have caught me if we had continued because he has to have way more power than my 285 rwhp. We stopped and visited for a little while. Nice Nova with a 390 cid small block Chevy, cammed, 3800 converter, 4:10 gear, small tire.

Thanks. I've never heard of a 390' sbc so either I heard him wrong and he said 390 hp, he has an aftermarket block, or he has a 3.875 stroker crank.

Could be or it's just a .060 bored 350 with the normal 3.75 stroker/400 crank..

That's what it must be -- 388 cid.
