ok this is the scoop.
i know this kid who has this 94-95 mustang GT with an auto. he has a cartech built trans with a 3200stall.4.10's, lid-length headers, off-road h-pipe, and flowmaster muffs. and probably a 75shot. completely stock motor, not even an intake.
i have the mods mentioned in my sig. we both have very bald tires and agreed to go from around 20mph. granted he can hook up(he claims it just doesent hook up at all.) should i really even worry or should this be pretty easy, i have my rev limiter set at 6600 and my car runs like a bat out of hell!
so we are setting up this race. and i might possibly get it on video so we can see how it goes. probably in the next week or so we will see.
thanks for the input!

It won't even be a race. the 95 GT's put down around 180-190 rwhp from the factory. He's going to need a lot more than what he has to run with you, considering you're probably putting down around 300-310 rwhp. It'll be an absolute raping.
PS - If he can't get traction with the virtually torque-less old stock 5.0 motor, he needs to learn how to drive.

My five-oh has h/c/i, lt headers, and an offroad H pipe on so-so tires. I have no probs with traction on a launch, even though I can scream the tires on a shift to 2nd if I want.
torqueless??? with 4:10s in my 95 GT, i could spin tires almost as easly as the T/A which has 3:23s. hell I managed to put the GT in a ditch cause i decided to powerslide around a corner and waited too long to let up off the throttle.
I seriously think that my GT, with about 100 less rwhp, could match my TA up to about 45 or 50mph. Beyond that it would be a TA *** whupping sure, but the 5.0 was NOT "torqueless". It made every bit of the 280 ft/lbs it claimed.
As for this race in question, he starts off about 100rwhp behind a stock ls1, adds headers, off road h-pipe, and catback... that's about 20-25rwhp, and then he puts a 75 shot on. that puts him dead even with a stock ls1. your mods are worth how much real rwhp? about 20 or 30 maybe. so you've got about 30hp on him at best, and similar gearing, and he has a converter (which the AOD-E needs even more than the 4L60-E). how much do the two cars weigh? I think you've got a real race on your hands here. you miss a gear and it's over.
I would expect the LS1 to win, but not by much.

It isn't torqueless, but it isn't hard to launch. Considering I have an h/c/i/e 5.0 that weighs less than the SN95 body, it should be harder for me to launch than him.

remember, this is a cartech built trans with a 3200stall and 4.10's.
i would assume it *could* have a really wicked launch. but, 4.10 seems like way to steep a gear for a bone stock 5.0???? i always thought they made all there power in the low-end.

No harm, no foul.
