Timing. Everything is on backorder for 6-8 months it seems. And everything I get some cash saved up to throw at the car, we have some emergency come to life. Spent a few months moving money around and paying off credit cards we were careless with and our fridge crapped out. Spent the car fund on that. Got it built back up and dog got sick. Thought id have something fun to drive by this point. I dont know what im going to do for sure but I just feel like I picked the worst time ever to try to build a car lol.

I understand the cyclical nature of life and its woes. I think if you stick with it you will enjoy it once you make it to the other side.

Is there anything you can do to the car in the meantime to improve it? Free weight reduction?

I think im at the point where it's more beneficial to strip it literally down to the bare shell and start over, end up with a REALLY nice car that way. If the car is going to be down for 6-8 more months anyways. Im out of town the next two weekends but next on the to do list is strip the interior and glass. My buddy is going to come pull the windshield for me. That will give the room to remove all the rear seat/seat belt brackets since the backseat isnt going back in the car. Also give me a chance to deep clean/replace the interior bits. The factory sound deadening is coming out as well. After that ill be out of "free work". If I go any further than that I may ask the guy painting my dad's 69 Z28 how much he would charge to do mine as well.

Nice tow pig!

I'm kind of alive. Our youngest is now 4 months and older sister is not even 2 and a half, so needless to say, all my energy is survival mode for family life. Did manage to get our camper ready for the summer, and have a small garage painting project happening...but that's about it until the kids are a little more self-sufficient. Do have some winter plans for both cars, so see how it goes come fall.

Man, things are looking up lately. If all goes as planned this will be mine by the end of the month. Without all the junk of course.
