Driveway is nice and dry, forecast is good. Just need to finish swapping the truck to the summer set of wheels and tires, then time to wrench on the Camaro...hoping for some time this weekend, got to bolt on the heads and measure pushrod length with the change in valvetrain setup and heads.
I'm swapping my 4.10s for 3.55s in the camaro, I want to run a 26 instead of a 28 inch tire, I spin too much for the street, I run a 6.8@ 103.5 mph at the track, and a 8.7 @ 98 on the street, I hope the worse gearing will help me hook up in 2nd gear.
I'm not blaming the taller tire, I just think 4.10s are too much gear, I've had the worst time trying to get this thing to work on the street. I honestly think a stock one might beat it

That's one reason I really enjoy the Durango with it's AWD...it's slow but there is barely any difference between the track and the street numbers. I bet that thing is a monster on the street once you have traction.
Porting the stock TB and port matching it to the intake is the direction im leaning,. Also doesnt seem like there is much (if any) gain to be had switching to the larger MAF. Hopefully it wakes this 140k mile ls1 up a little bit.
Anybody do any cool **** to their car lately?
I haven't, but since I've had the 03 I've done a bunch of not very sexy mods, such as motor mount replacement, swapping quieter mufflers, replacing billet interior pieces with factory stuff, replacing antenna, adding MGW shifter, added AUX cable functionality to factory stereo, discovered the blower and plenum are ported and it has been tuned at some point (has MAFia mass air meter extender).

Snapped some pics before I sold the 86.
I don't know about cool ****, but I am in the process of fixing all of the rust and body damage and painting my 1970 Buick GS, it's not going to be a show car, but it looks pretty damned good for an idiot with a mig welder, a scrap IROC-Z hood, and a tub of body filler. I am staring at the tired Buick 350 and thinking how easy it would be to drop in an LS/T56 right now. Also picked up a 65 Impala SS, 327, 4 speed.

Same, the 66 and 67 are nice, but the 65 just looks better. Been trying to run one down for the past 15 years with zero luck, because the 4 speed is pretty damned rare. Got close twice, first guy had one that needed restoration and had been sitting on the frame rails for years. Said he would negotiate, but when I got there, he said he didn't even want to sell the car. Second time, I drove 300 miles in the middle of the night to this little rundown shack in the boonies. Deal was made, I had the trailer backed up, I handed him the cash, and he says "give me your ID so I can make a copy".... I told him no and asked why he wanted it, he said he was worried about counterfeit bills, so I told him to check every bill for the watermark and security strip. His son got super agitated at this, jumped into the conversation and told me to give the ID or leave, so I left.
I had to pay out the *** for this one, but it was worth it. Fully restored and damned nice. Wasn't without it's stress though, I had to fly from Texas to Boston to get it, my bank scared the hell out of me after I bought it, saying they thought it was a scam, and I got a spiked drink in an Irish pub my last night there.

That's a series of crazy events for the right car. I'm glad you got such a nice example, but you worry me if I ever take on the same endeavor - just put me first in line if you ever sell this one?
Trying to keep this thread alive! Just finished Summit Midwest Drags! Smoked the clutch and still pulled the tires. Mcleod RST FTW. 10k miles and ~40 passes before she gave up.
