So you guys think a 275/50/15 Hoosier dr2 will be plenty of tire ? I think I’ll be fine right now but I’m worried after heads cam stall. It’s just so nice cuz it’s only 25.6 tall and 22lbs...
i had 315/35/17 Hoosier dr2 previous that was great. Much wider. I’m giving up a lot of width but I’ll have a bunch more sidewall. I’m hoping it’s just as good but idk...

trolling when I wasn't. I do troll sometimes but only when I deem it necessary lol.
Well damn son at least you didn't down shift and **** up the engine could of been that bad.
Hoosiers are great tires and they are light weight. Get some heat into them and you'll hook.
It went 10.58@131 bolt ons and 10.62@134.8 heads cam. It did have a better 1/8 then bolt ons. It went 6.80@105.7 and bolt ons it went 6.81@102.8. I missed 4th gear on that pass and the slip only reported to the 1/8. It was likely to have went 135-136 but I fucked that up lol I had to do all this with 60 pounds of dumbbells added in the hatch to even get some traction.

I would have to check out the gear calc first with the difference in tire height. I would also want to know projected rpm on the up shifts after the h/c.
Also i would imagine after the h/c a stall would be required unless the cam is very mild. All that would play into it.
Other than that the hoosier is a great tire. If your tracks prep is typically good and you stick with the stock stall i would probably use the 275. If you go with a larger stall i would think the bigger tire would be better with most track prep.
To confuse things more......i would also look at the Mickeys. Those things work decent even when they're a old pos like on my notch.

Nice car. I’ve really grown to love the fox body cars now and the third gen Camaros look less appealing now. I used to love them funny how taste changes. I probably like the 3rd gen firebird formulasthe most now. Weird. When I was very very young I loved the 91-92 z28 but it just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’d probably rather have a clean fox. And I used to hate them. The mind is a funny thing
id still love a 92 z28 but it woukd need a lot of touches to fit my fancy

I love how third gens look, honestly probably as much as I like the fox looks. I was always a coupe kinda guy but the four eyed cars I like in hatch. Once you get rid of the bullshit like clutch fan, replace starter with 94-95 starter, and remove smog they're a great platform, ton of room in engine bay.
Dad has a 98 Z28 that's got a baby cam, I'm always trying to talk him into doing some other stuff but he never pulls the trigger. My brother is getting the car bug again and wants a fox but Jesus fox prices are stupid high for one in good condition.
Edit: better angle of the slowstang.

my next choice was a c6z but for the money I felt was going back in time aside from strait line performance. When I found my car brand new for 30 k I couldn’t pass it up!
when you getting back to the track ?

I still love them they just need a few changes now imo. That car was my first love and all I ever wanted when I was 14 lol. My friend had a 91 formula 350 tpi and it felt like a ******* rocket ship when I was a freshman in 98-99. Took my breath away from a launch as a child. Funny how things change
he could destroy my other friends 90gt but it was an auto. I guess the auto back then for the stangs really killed them. But it was honestly no contest. They messed around a few times and that formula always kicked his ***

Auto foxes were slow as ***** compared to the 5sp.
Well Ultra for the track - I'm gonna try to go while I'm here in town in STL one of the test and tune nights, otherwise once I get the car to SC, I'll bring it to Darlington which is like an hour and 45 away from where we live. I still have some intake tweaks I'd like to do before then, within the next 2 weeks or so. Got a bunch going on while I'm here in the STL area but I make time to tinker on the fox.
