I hate how cars sound with them. They also are more trouble then they are worth. They aren’t worth much power with zr1’s and compromise tq. They also make the car run much hotter and have cooling issues since they radiant so much more heat in the engine bays, then you cook starters etc.

Do you have a zr1? If not your opinion is null and void. I would put them on anything else, just not a zr1.

White zr1 is the best zr1.

most of it is. I still hate how header cars sound, and header cars defiantly produce more engine bay heat BUT most other platforms can handle the added heat, the zr1 on the other hand already has issues stock, add headers and its a recipe for issues.
they are worth about that but they take a little TQ away, on the zr1 they just are not worth it. the stock manifolds flow very well and you dont have heat issues with them. all header cars (zr1's) cook starters all the time and have issues with keeping coolant temps in check with ac etc.

im fine with it, much better mods for the money that I can still do. nitrous.. ported blower, pulley, etc. id rather keep the heat out of the engine bay, I also enjoy how my car sounds over a header car. I can guarantee my car has zero heat issues and great iat's.
a friend of mine is supposed to come down in a couple weeks so we can run (zr1 vs zr1). his setup is a little different so we want to see how they compare. his car has headers, mast heads, ported blower, slightly smaller pulley, 15's, ms109 and meth. my car is ported oem heads that are milled. I know its bench racing but going off how the run with the c7z went he thinks it may be closer then i think. if im within a car or two id be extremely happy., my car has so much more potential but im honestly happy with how it is at the moment.

of course. if we had the exact same setups and the only difference is headers than yea.... one will make more power obviously... I didn't say they dont... BUT like I said.... they are not worth the hassle. Im not out here building a max effort car, a zr1 is not the right platform for that LOL....

Car looks great and sounds good too. I wouldn't mind upgrading to a C6 ZR1 myself. I feel you on the long tubes. I'm probably in the minority here but I feel that many of the LS3/LS7/LS9 and newer motors sound like **** with aftermarket exhaust and long tubes. It's weird, I use to think LS motors sounded awesome with full exhaust but once the square port head motors came out I feel the motors have lost some of their soul from a sound perspective. They just don't sound as good as the cathedral head motors IMO.
