Default 03 Cobra! FINALLY!

Finally! I got my chance at an 03 Cobra.

It was a beautiful convertible (help my odds as much as possible, hehehe) that looked like it might have had a cat-back. Judging form the race results, I don't think he had much else done to it.

I was on M-5 this morning, headed south towards the big I-696/I-275/I-96 interchange ... well, you all know what a series of long on-ramps means PLAYTIME!

We both showed off for each other a little bit, until we got a clearing in traffic... we were doing 70, and we both punched it. HOLY CRAP!!!! I almost immediately started pulling away on him! At the top of third, I had abotu a car on him, I shifted to fourth, and I continued to pull on him. We came up on traffic, and it was difficult to tell when he backed off. I think it was right after I had shifted into 4th gear, still pulling on him.

This is my first run-in with an 03 Cobra, and I wasn't gonna pass it up! Lucky for me, he was pretty stock. The guy was cool too, we both gave thumbs up as we went our seperate ways through the interchange.

BRING IT ON UNIT!!!! hahaha, j/k... stay away.

Nice kill. The last one I saw was running low 11s at the track and that's what gave me the "mod bug" full force again.

Condsidering my **** isn't running, I don't think you'd have a problem walking me!

Nice kill on the Cobra convertible. What color? Maybe he was a MCT (Motor City Terminator) memeber. If so, I'll find out the story from his perspective.

Black. I don't think he had the stock rims either -- they looked a little more chrome, but I could be wrong. Also looked like he had a V1 detector.

Ask him when he backed off... I would really like to know how long he stayed in to it. I know I stayed in it way longer than he did because we came up to traffic, but I still had an open lane. It seemed like I had a legit advantage at the top of third, but I'd like to know from his perspective too

What does having the top down have to do with it?

Top down is like racing with your windows down or T-Tops off. Not very aerodynamic. Enough to be quite noticeable at higher speeds (like from a 70 roll).

hahaha....it's like running with a parachute hanging out of your trunk. No matter what speed it is terrible. I have raced my friends car with my top up and down at different roll speeds and from a stop just to see. It is a hudge difference so much so no racing with the top down.

The top was down... then again, I put a car on him from 70-100 and still pulling hard... That's still pretty damn impressive if you ask me.
