My offer still stands and I say we get down there and hook up before it all goes away.

Atlanta Dragway ran its final NHRA pro event back in May. Property bought to put in apartments to house new employees for a battery plant over there. I hadn’t heard Houston was closing. I was out there when very first 300 mph pass was made. Seems like that was in 91? I was working in Groves and rode over to Houston that weekend for the race. John Force announced at that same event that he would be ending his infamous “1/8 mile” burnouts. Man…time flies. I see Eddie Hill on your hat. Those were the days! Gene Snow, Don Prudhomme…and to think that John Force is still at it and winning races at 72 years old.

tragic.... with the government being heavy handed forcing electric vehicles on us (so they can get money back on their investments I am sure) it's only a matter of time before someone passes regulations or laws banning drag strips altogether.

Enjoy it while you can, no way they won't go after top fuel at some point even if the tracks manage to survive. I feel like I'm watching some crazy future dystopian movie in slow motion here.

It was a great day of racing on Sunday and one that my grandson will never forget. I'm really going to miss NHRA drag racing in Houston.
