Very Sweet!! With the MPH shown by even the "13 second passes" the C6 has low 12 potential (even those few high 11s) and I bet we will be seeing those times shortly after its release.

I see at least five everyday. I've also been in the plant and seen them being built. I think the prettiest one I've seen in person has to be the Sunset Orange Metallic Convertible with a khacki top.

 

I see a c6 about 2 time a day. Im up in general motors land in oakland county. All gm plants and everything around here. Got to ride in a sunset orange 6 speed one. God damn that thing PULLED. its powerband is EXCELLENT. and it just feels like your on rails, im not even kidding. the guy brought it up to a local car show, and i shot the **** with him till i got to go for a ride man let me tell you what, the c6 is this good, imagine the c6z06, and the blue devil

i doubt that ~75hp is not much...plus im sure the ls2 has just as much if not more potential than an ls1 moter considering it is already a 6.0L block...thats like saying z06>SS but not by much..

 

Well, where are you getting 75hp difference? The LS1 has about 350ish HP at the crank, stock. You seriously don't believe the 300-320HP claims by GM do you? Have you not seen what they dyno at the wheels stock? Around what they are RATED at the CRANK... also, saying LS2>LS1 IS NOT like saying Z06>SS... the LS1 and LS2 are engines, and the Z06 and SS are car models. An SS with an LS6 will not be all THAT much faster than an LS1 SS... I can't think of the word right now, but 50 hp difference can be a big difference to you, but to someone else its nothing. I guess it depends on the person...

 

I run mid 12's with slicks and high 12's with street tires. So...ANYTHING could have happened. I might have beaten him and he might have beaten me. Never know.

You are reading my words out of context. I said..."MIGHT". You never know. C6's just came out right? Well then, im sure that most of the C6 drivers are rookies at driving them.

Guess what. I have beaten an 11 second WS6 not because I was faster. It was because my 13.4 (a while ago) beat his 13.7. He fucked up the launch real bad. This was at Milan Dragway. Anything is possible man. Dont assume that omg...its a mid 12 S.R.T...it can NEVER beat a low 12's C6.....NEVAR!!!!

 

Oh yes....My first run at the track ever....I got beat by a 15 second Neon. I ran a 16.7@96mph or something. I had a 2.49 60ft. Gave that kid something to brag about to his friends for years to come....well, I did run him again and I killed him with a 14.1 pass .

 

True. But using that same rationale, you could go speeding by an F-14 while it's taxi-ing to the runway, then say you raced an F-14 and won. Get my drift?

My comment was that even a well driven SRT is not going to hang with a C6 vette, assuming the vette is driven competently.

 

Haha....nice comment on teh F-14. I am just stating. Anyone can beat anything.....up to an extent that is. . .5 seconds is a huge difference at a track. But on the street it isnt....Until we get into 100+mph then I would just be wasting my gas just to get my *** kicked. Most street races occur only till like 80mph. Im not saying I can beat/hang with a C6. I would actually get MURDERED by them. It would have been nice to race one though and see how badly I would have been beat or how badly the person drove the car.

ha, you guys on here aren't the ordinary ones that are from central PA - i'm sure you know my rationale after reading some of my other posts on the Vette guys!

In all honesty though, I have nothing against the Corvette. It's an excellent machine and for the price, it's the best bang-for-the-buck in its category. It's just the big head and huge amount of ignorance from *many* owners that makes me want to go out and show them up

Running 13's isn't going to get me there though

 

I know where he was trying to go, and it wasn't to a flame war. Basically anything can happen on the street.

With my best of 13.3, will I try a Z06 or C6? Hell yeah!
