buurn rubber!! thats the way to Git R Duun...haha....

i agree with Unit....drag radials are really a must have unless youve already installed a 12 bolt or a ford 9 inch.......unless you want your stock twig to break into pieces.....i know if i slapped sum slicks on my ride that my rear end would be GOOONE! would be nice to have all that traction, but the drag radials are the shizznizzle......go with nitto, you CANT go wrong with those...they get unbelievable traction under dry AND wet conditions...and at the track....theyre that sticky icky iiickyy!

So was the car a Mach 1 or a regular GT?

It's pretty easy to tell the difference by just looking at the hood:

The Z06 was heavily mod'd as the owner claimed it was an 11.50 car (cam, heads, polished, ported, etc. etc.)
So what kind of times do your run that you've never lost to a modded Cobra?

Not flaming you - just curious...

You can tell by the wheels too.

"Y2kHawk05 if you are ever in the DFW area look me up I would like to run your car sometime.. "

I will definitely look you up. It's a shame SLP is not doing the customer appreciation road show anymore. I went 2002 & 2003 to Ennis. I did not run my car as there were too many F-body's.

Anyway, Keep in touch.

The car was definitley a Mach. Have not run my car since the mod's. I plan to once the weather cools a little bit. Actually put my stock MAF on today as I am hoping the SES light will stay off! and will not experience PO171 or PO174 anymore.

Absolutely need & want the re-programming. As far as the Drag Radials, my buddy in the tire business really steared me away from them and to the ET's. I would like to ask the question of: If I am not Rev'ing high and then clutch dumping, will the 10 bolt still be at risk? Different opinions have stated the 10 bolts can hold up. Could a stupid question.

I'm thinking of going with the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. Heard nothing but good things from people that have them, and some say they like them better than ET streets. What do ya'll think?

Hey nice kill those Mach 1's are good cars to get a run against. I had a encounter with one in Denver. It was night I was driving home and this Mustang flies by me, so I play catch up. Then we cut off a little tricked out CRX and did a 50 or so roll on I started about the same cars back [1/2] and pulled him in by 70-80. Congrats on the kill again!

Ever seen a '69 Mach? It is a throwback to the original. I agree the wheels could have been better, but calling them gay is wrong. Oh, I forgot which website I was on..... Sorry...

I definitely have seen the old school Mach's. Calling the new Mach wheels gay is my opinion. To me, they are absolutely horrible.

...and that's coming from a 'stang owner.

I agree with you! The new mach wheels are definitely a disappointment. I believe in leaving the Late 60's and early 70's Hot Rods alone. To copy or even resimble the Original Magnum 500 wheels off the 69 & 70 Mach 1's is just wrong, gay or whatever you want to call them. Even worse, they remind me of wheels on my old Hot Wheels cars back in the day. I know I had a 1970 Mach 1 Hot Wheels car if not 2 or 3 of them.

Good thing that the wheels are so easy to swap for something better-looking...

Based on that logic, the Cat-Back, Mid-Pipe, Air Intake system, Etc on your car were all a "Big waste of $$$" as well?

Unlike all the parts on your Cobra that got pulled-off & replaced at the 1st opportunity due to performance or asthetic reasons,
wheels can easily be taken-off & sold to someone who likes that style.

Can the same be said for your stock air-box or stock mid-pipe?

(I don't think they're the best wheels ever installed on a '99+ Stang myself,
but they're not nearly awful enough to buy new ones simply for looks alone... )
