yeah, good rule of thumb if you want to have a chance beating any modded supra is never go from a roll. especially highway speed rolls, once they are spooled up, start counting the car lengths. go from a dig and get the jump on them and hope they cant pass you until after 110 or so. but most times they will.
they are mostly dyno queens though, 600rwhp cars running 11's. i havent run into a modded supras around here. the stock or mildly upgraded ones are pretty easy kills from a dig. sweet cars though

remember, if you have to race them from a roll, get the jump and your torque will put them behind, once you are about 100+, start letting off the gas because if you keep going they will reel you in.

Modded Supra TT vs Integra with LSVTEC
a buddy of mine has a fully built 91 integra with LSVTEC it is pretty quick and fast as hell on the freeway. i have seen him beat a corvette b4 but everytime i race him i beat him on the freeway by at least a car or 2. Well he swares on his life that he took out a modded Supra on the freeway by 2 cars im alittle optimiatic what do u guys think?

i pulled up next to a black supra at a red light once. He did nothing when the light turned green and waited until i left. I think the cam made him a little scurd! The problem is, they are hard to find let alone finding one to race.

Supra's from a dig are funny cars. With the huge turbo of theirs its nuts. I saw one from a dig though that murdered many cars, but lost to a Camaro here. It was this white LT1 with all kinds of mods. Then both cars lost to a 60 something Dodge Dart with a hemi. Supra's are sweet cars though.

I had an 87 Single Turbo supra that I paid 400 for. Now I was going to do everything in my power to save the 7MGTE inline six. It had 230k on the motor and tranny....It ran very strong and very smoothly.
Before I blew the head gasket(RACING, not ricing it was stock) I weas running with a 4.6 GT Stang(Stock) I wasnt really looking to win just have some fun, from our 65 roll, he pulled 1 car, then I walked him from 90 on up to 125, the I heard a greta big whooosh, and was blowing smoke all over.....Headgasket let go on me, was 1 mile from home.
Wouldn't Mind a newer 95-98 TT Supra just stock...They produce 320hp, BPU come around 700-2k and make you almost 500hp....Killer rides

A friend of mine has a 7M-GTE in his old Datsun wagon and with mild turbo upgrade put down 357hp to the wheels. The 7M (MKIII Supra) doesn't get as much respect as the 2JZ (latest Supra) but it can still make good power.

I just read what apu means what does bpu+ and bpu++ mean? BTW there is a black
supra around here I see all the time. It's nice, custom wheels, dont know what all is
done to it. If anything mechanical at all.

hey yall, what does a 400 hp supra and a 600 hp supra have in common?!?
they both run 12's! lol
my best friend has a supra and i give hime crap about it all the time! he has a bpu++ car which means he has front mount, intake and exhaust, turned up the boost and like 2 other lil things. but he gets wasted by my buddy with a 355 79 ta from a 40 roll, i mean my buddies ta jumps out around 2 or 3 car lengths and then slowly he reals him back in 110.
i raced his supra when he had only exhaust and intake, and i was in my stock 89 formula 350. we went from a 25 roll i can tore away from him! i cant wait to get my 68 ls1 prject done to race him!

BPU=Basic Performance Upgrade, which pretty much means stock turbos, the + are how deep into BPU you are, you can usually eek out 500rw on the stock turbos if you have all the bpu mods.

also their 5th & 6th gears are not OD. i think it's 1:1 so once we shift to 5th, we're in overdrive and it'll only get worse.
rule 1, we don't race them on the highway
rule 2, we don't talk about fightclub

your a lil off on that one! my buddy (the die hard supra driver) is always showin me stuff on his supra forums that he goes on. and there is only like one kid right now that has over 500 on his stock twins. they cant handle boost above 18 psi safely. most bpu cars have around 375-435. every now and then they will get a freak out of one of them and make 450 or so. but that is pretty rare! but needless to say, as everyone else has said, they are just incredible cars when it comes to top end!

yeah 375-450 before the stock twins give out....and this is with the FMIC, etc.
APU with the necessary fuel system upgrade is around $15k with install & tuning.
this on top of a car that's still commanding $28-30k on the used car market for a '93 model! new in '98, Toyota had to drop it down to $38k because nobody was buying them.
