Default would I win?

A buddy of mine with a Ford Lightning wants to race no mods other then exhaust to his.

Mines got intake, exhaust, stall converter 4000, gutted cat, !EGR, !AIR...

Should we go from a dig? or a roll? How would I match up...?

What year Lightning?? Stock for stock I lost to one (my nose was at his drivers door from a dig to 100mph)..I ran him 3 times and it was the same everytime. I ran 14.1 @ 97mph on a 2.1 60ft a week after that. I say if you can drive you will take him.

They can be nasty from a dig.. so if you can launch your good. I would try both.. let us know the results. Have fun!!

Try racing from a dig, you'll have a better jump on him, trying to go from a roll he's likely to hand it to you. Once those things get spooled up they f***** move.

Get tires and run from a dig. With that stall I'd think you would be able to jump him off the line pretty good.

I raced a lightning with exhaust and I took him by about a car. I also didnt have my LTs in at the time. If he is stock, I think you should be able to take him.

An average driver will smoke a lightning no matter what speed you go from.

Agreed. from a dig. from a roll they can be pretty tough to beat untill you get over 120 or so and aerodynamics come into more.
Also, yes the supercharged doesnt "spool up" like a turbo, but the roots blower doesnt hit full boost till 3000 or so rpms on the lightnings.

With an LT1 it should be a good race.

Unless it's a modded or sprayed L you'll beat him.

With an LT1? I doubt it. It will be super close except on the very top end.
