Well, I almost bought a Cobra also. It was going for 20K. Had about 1200 miles. It looked like new. It was black and it was sweet. Only problem was that it was in a bad accident. I should have bought it. But, I opted for a neon ....Its ok, I can take one....in stock form....if they have ANYTHING then

I hear ya, but there's a good possibility that it traps about 20mph more than you in the 1/4 mile.

Anyone tried the Whipple chargers? I frequent Strictly Performance and they have consistantly gotten better numbers out of them compared to the KBs. I've see a couple myself. You know, the kind of people who have unlimited funds who can afford to swap blowers.

I've heard that the Whipple makes more power on pump gas than the KB.. but the one thing that I don't like about the Whipple is... the SOUND! It's quiet, and you don't get the blower noise right there. I personally love the sound of the blower and would only replace it when the sound of two turbos the size of basketballs spooling up.

Another thing I heard is that the KB casing is made of billet, while the Whipple is cast. And also there are some extra oil bearings in the KB that the Whipple doesn't have.. so supposedly the longevity of the KB is better. Again, this is just word on the street but talk to Richard about them. I was there today when they received the Whipple and it was a nice peice. But I would still rather have a KB.

to kill a new cobra u need a 408 stroker kit and a 200 shot that will be good for 700+ rwhp that should kill a 03 cobra i think unless they are turboed becasue they have a twin kit for them now

In my experience with a friend who an 03 Cobra, it wasn't much of a challenge. He had CAI, and cat-back and tuning. I could beat him by 3-4 cars from a roll or a stop, both of us on DR's.
He later got the smaller pulley, and more tuning, but we haven't raced again.

if your buddy is a decent driver those 3-4 car length wins will be significantly reduced or perhaps a thing of the past... that pulley change and/or an accufab TB wake those cars up a lot... along with the tuning, exhaust, cai.

I have beat many cobra's. Mainly because I am supercharger my damb self. The only ones' that I have problems with are the ones that all bolt ons and the smaller pulleys. The ones with the pulleys are the only ones that give me problems. I can say that the cobras are bad *** though. I wont take anything away from by any means. They pull hard all the way through their rpm range. I raced my friends from 40 - 165mph. We were right next to each other all the way. It made it seem like we weren't even moving since we were right next to each other.

$1000 worth of mods and you won't be able to say that anymore.

A blown LS1 is the real deal. No question about it. Not quite as potent as a turbo, but a force to be reckoned with for sure.

I think that I got a good deal. All my upgrades with tuning for 6,000 dollars. Procharger, Fuel pump, 42lb injectors, Gauge Pod, A/F gauge, Boost gauge, Fuel Pressure gauge, Slp Loudmouth exhaust, no cats, And tunning. Not bad to me. Got the car for 16,000 with 40,000 miles on it. Just what I think.

It sounds like a decent deal. What times have you run with it? Have you had it dynoed?

First time at the track with no tunning. I ran a 13 at 116. I was spinning all of one a little of two. I was on some old tires. I put new tires the next day. Haven't had a chance to take it since. I will be getting it dynoed in the next week with the new setup. Should get my car by Wednesday. I am looking for about 430rwhp.

13 @ 116!!!

Is that with a 3.0 60' ???

haha... Good tires definitely help, because blows make for sucky traction without sticky tires... but I guess thats a good thing

I beat an 04 cobra with my old heads and cam package. Plus all the little bolt ons and full exhaust. He pulled on me until third, then bye-bye.
