This guy at work drives an early 90s 5.0 looks clean and slightly moded (overheard him talking to a bud about gears he had) and my truck just had an intake/exhaust. Well the first morning at 3am on the way to work there is this run from a traffic light that is 3 lanes and desolate for about a mile. I take off from the light pretty quick not racing anyone and I see a set of headlights cut out of traffic in my rearview and he flies by me so I just let it go and it was him. The second occurrence at the same light we are side by side and I decide to wait to see if he makes a jump when it turns green and he doesn't. Instead we take of casually side by side and when I get up to about 50 I say what the hell and give a couple of revs and he guns it. Well lets just say by the time I reached my top speed limiter at 98mph he had about 2 buses on me . I saw him at work and I said "fast car you have" and was hoping he would tell me what he had done to it but he just shrugged me off.
Now for the good part. I installed a NX wet shot with the 100hp jets and got the tune in my sig. Well after waiting 2 weeks to see this guy again it finally happens. I get to the same light and the best I can do is line up behind him but good enough. I bounce my front end up a few times and creep up on his rear bumper to get his attention. Light turns green and he takes off slow and I'm like wtf then at about 20 mph he *** end dropped..he gunned it. By the time I follow suit he gets an immediate 2 car lengths on me and I wait till 3 grand on the tac to hit the nitro and I'm back on his bumper but he is merging left because the right lane ends. I stayed glued to it all the way past the max on my Speedo at 100mph and he shuts down like 5 seconds later when our exit for the parking lot comes up so I don't know how fast we reached but I was there the whole time counting the goose bumps on his neck. I'm sure when I drove by him in the parking lot he was like wtf! When I saw him at work I was gonna tell him something stupid like I cleaned my air filter out but he didn't even look at me...are all mustang guys like this?

That's true too. But most of the mustang owners that I know, think that they are hot shyt.

 

Im thinking he was just upset because a P/U truck was stuck to his A$$ the whole time. He his probably at home looking over his car wonering wtf happened. That run emptied my bottle, I had used it off and on the week previous so it was close to empty before the run. Next time Im gonna run him from a dig with a full bottle and no f-ing around.

 

Most of them are ****, but there's some that are reallly chill, like my neighbor has a red 5.0, and he's really cool and not cocky

Is that to say that anyone who drives a stang and is also cocky, as you like to put it, is a ***?

Just curious, what do you say about the guys who drive LS-1's who also happen to be ****-strong?

This really wasnt meant to be a thread to down those that drive stangs, Hell I almost bought one and Im sure every theatre has its percents of dick heads or ****. This guy that I ran with just acts self centered and he drives like no one else should be able to run him...revs his engine in the lot yada yada. Im sure its just him and not the car. It was just nice to wake him up a little.

 

shiiiiiiiitttt! i get other ls1 owner's throwing little *** rev's at me. and on top of that some of them say dumb **** like my alt sound's bad. i never had a problem with the mustang owner's at all they alway's give me and ask me what blower do i have.

I didnt mean you were cocky bro, i just said most of the ones you dont know or just meet on the street tend to be kinda cocky. The ones i know personally though, or on forums, they're coool. Trust me i've had an experience with a cocky LT1 owner, so its not just stangs.

 

Sounds like the guy is a dick and just happens to own a stang. The LS1 owners are trying to corner the "I,m better than you and my car is faster than yours " concept that the stang owners had in the pre LT1 days. Nice payback, nothing pisses a car owner more than not being able to shake off a truck

 

Come on man, I don't really take offense to any of this **** I read on here I just like to stir the pot a little from time to time. I realize, believe it or not, that I am in fact on a naturally biased website, but the fact remains that the most of the stang sites are ghey as hell and aren't as into racing as you guys......for that I hoist one!

I know you didn't mean I was cocky, but in actuality I am. Why would anyone own a car built for racing and not be. I expected the guy driving the LS-1 to be cocky when I pulled up next to him and purged the juice. If he wasn't, then he was the *** for having the ability to run and not. Those people should be arrested for horsepower abuse!

Be thankful my friend for the cocky stang owners out there since they provide you with many races....

I know the feeling of not being able to shake a TRUCK,i had a guy in my area with a Dodge Ram that had (Headers,duals,stall,Supercharger,ignition,posi etc.)
No one wanted to race him because if they lost ,it was a truck and a little embarassing,then if they won (it was only a truck).
My SS was totally stock ,and i told him i would take a chance and see what happens.
With E/T streets he pulled about 1.5 cars out of the hole till about 60-70 mph,and then i relled him in and put only about a fender on him by the 1/4 mile mark.

Then he added nitrous and a bigger fuel system to the mix(on top of boost) and was running high 11's at almost 120 with it,again i was the only person that would race him.
We ran on the highway and i pulled him pretty good. (I added a dry nitrous kit and DR's).
I ran a 11.82 and he went 11.9?. So now when i see the truck it is time to race. I know the feeling of not being able to get away from a truck.

I have added a few other mods and run low 11's now,but i still wonder what he has left,or can do next.

Yah hopefully ya'll don't think I'm a dick or anything like that. But there are alot of dicks that drive Mustangs, and there are alot of dicks that drive LS1's too. But everybody that I have met on this site have been really cool.

was it a diesel? There's so many mods you can do to those things. They can get that thing to push over 1100 rwhp with a set of b turbo upgrades. Damn diesels are quick. That's my next truck unless they come up with a way to save fuel mileage.
