Default First death in the Cobra

Well, my brother, that bought my old SS, went to the track with me today. He bought my car because it killed his SS truck so bad it pissed him off. Well, we line up and I cut a .6xx light and he cuts a 1.0x light (it was his first time ever drag racing). My lead lasted about 20 feet. Once he got started the torque converter busted my *** in the sixty foot. I though he would take me out of the hole but I thought I could either freeze his pull or gain on him farther down the track. NOT! He just kept pulling away. He cut a 12.18 @ 112 mph to my 12.9 @ 107 . It wasn't my best run of the day but it didn't matter. That really sucks having to wait until June or July to be able to beat him. I'm getting a KB blower then. But, he also ordered a set of Patriot LS6 stage II heads the other day. He is threatening to get a high stall too. I might have my hands full then too. Now I just have to be patient. I will be on top again soon.

Whoa, Cobra's lose?

Hey, you should post this twice. As a kill in the SS and a lodeath in the Cobra. Sounds like you have some comp, I'm sure mods on your new beast will take down the SS. But maybe you guys can go until you both run out of money. I know I would!

Either way nice death, nice to admit it too, what was your 60' foot times? Also what was your best run?

Is it really a death when you lose to your own car?

If I was gonna lose I would rather it be to something that used to be mine. What are the mods on the SS, and like someone else asked, what was your best time in the '03?

Thanks and yeah it sucks to lose to the car that you built.

DanSSull I ran a 12.7001 @ 106.64 for my best run with a 2.0041 60'.

It has a TSP 224R cam LT's, w/ORY, Borla 2800 Yank converter, lid, free mods. By the way I have an 04 Cobra.

Did you let out on your best run Brandon? 106 trap and a 12.7 doesnt jive too well, especially with a 2.0 60'

I was thinking the same thing. Traps should be around 110-111mph for a 12.7 on a 2.0 60 footer.

You have to stay in it until you cross the line bro.

Well since you asked I remembered this. I hit the rev limiter when I was crossing the line. I wasn't sure exactly where the line is/was I thought I could make it in third. But I hit the limiter. That is the only thing that I think could explain my times. I thought the 106 was low too. I was sure I would be hitting 110 mph. I can't explain it. I took a pic of my slip. See what you can make of it.

*edit* I was racing a basically stock A4 WS6 TA.

Good times in the Cobra . Never hurts to lose to a modded ls1 or cobra. They are both beasts when done up.

You have to hit 4th gear. Hitting the limiter killed your mph. You should try to make another trip soon. I bet you get some 111mph traps. Very nice 60' too for F1's. Way to row it.

Your bro ran a 12.1 @ 112 and it was his first time ever drag racing? Damn... that's really impressive.

Nice death. Your brother ran a pretty stout time for those mods.
