I actually got into 5th gear at WOT still. That's rare for me since the speedometer gets a little crazy in 5th.

unit, i'm curious would you of moved out of the fast lane if he would of flashed his lights at you?

...and for the record, I OWN the left lane. No one passes me...ever!
I also live by this statement aswell.

Sure. I would've been courteous and moved over a lane for him. However, flashing his lights while 3 feet from my bumper would probably made me slow down.

ok both sides have merits here while driving in the left lane if i see a rice mobil in the way it pisses me off that the *** don't move specially when i give them the chance to move by slowing down, so i ussually speed up come up on their *** and pass them and as i do i floor the car through 2k rpm wich makes the car roar to life just to let them know who rules the passing lane. So on the same hand it would be hypocritical of me if i was huging the left lane while someone wanted to pass me so on the off chance that i decide not to speed up i ussually get out of the way to let them pass. You also gotta know that riding someone *** is not the way to ask their permition to pass becasue bitch i am ahead if you want to pass you need my permition why? because i got 3 times the enginge you do, and i hold the right of way so be nice, and maibe i'll take pitty on you and let you pass.

I know there aren't any specific laws about cruising in the left lane, but it's just one of those unwritten and implied rules of the road. Just like
-moving to the left when someone is merging into your lane
-flashing your lights to let a semi know that he's clear
-never using your brakes on the highway

To me, keeping the left lane clear is a courtesy.

I hate when people ride my *** like that...especially when there's traffic in front of me and no where else to go. Usually if someone does that (and I'm in a faster car than them) I'll wait till the traffic clears and then slow way down. Then when they're about to go around me I'll drop into a lower gear and take off kinda like you did. Just last week some little bitch was doing that to me in an Escort when I was in my VW. I hate people like that.

Nothing in a "race".

This is the street though and that's against the law.

Cruising in the fast lane is against the law in the state of Texas if the right lane is open.

No offense, but I agree with the cell phone comment.
"Shut up and Drive"

I can't wait till the new cell phone laws get past.
I heard on the news the other day somewhere here in Texas a lady was sitting at a red light right behind a cop.
She was on the phone (not paying attention I guess) anyway the light turned green and so she went....well the cop didn't so anyone wanna guess what happend?

Anyway, here the traffic is getting so bad it really doesn't matter how much motor you have, there is always going to be some POS in front of you just putting down the HWY hogging or blocking the lanes...

BTW, nice kill!

I agree, it's just the polite thing to do. I did a little checking and it appears that there IS a statute relevant to a situation like this. It's a little ambiguous based on the section it's located in, but I think it could apply in some circumstances.

FS 316.081 Driving on right side of roadway; exceptions.--

(2) Upon all roadways, any vehicle proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway except when overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction or when preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.

I think you're completely wrong for two things:
-hanging out in the left lane
-driving and talking on the cell

I drive to and from Orlando (120 miles) about twice a month in my car on the highway and I tailgate left lane dwellers when I have to in order to prove a point. 99% of the time they move over to the right lane. It's the law of the road.
**** YEA! someone who knows his ****. i hate people that just POST UP in the fast lane. GET OVER MORON. oh and for the people that brake check me, they get whatever i can get my hands on thrown at them when i scream past them.

Some states you can not pass in the right lane, by law. I think NJ is one.
I think you should have moved over, common courteously.

See, I feel the opposite way about people flashing their lights at me. If I'm cruising in the left lane and someone is close behind me (not 18" off my bumper, that's just being a retarded dick... but more like patiently waiting 2 or 3 carlengths back), I'll get over and let them pass if I don't feel like going faster. But the SECOND they flash their lights at me, it's something completely different. Then I'll do my best to get in their way and stay in their way. I don't know about you guys, but flashing your lights at someone is, to me, essentially the same thing as saying "Hey I'm more important than you, I control the road, get the **** out of my way".

I don't respond well to people who think that they're superior to me.

Texas is another...

I had a guy in Austin driving a brand new mini van pass me on the shoulder (of the fast lane) and I was going 80.
I actually thought about cutting him off and into the cement barrier that divides the 6 lanes. Boy that would have been nasty with all the traffic on the road heh heh.

All that for just one spot in front of me which I was using as a buffer for the guy that was in front of me. Just crazy **** I tell ya.
The other 2 right hand lanes were full.

That too is against the law.

If the highway was wide open why were you in the left lane?

I hate when people chill in the left lane, in MA you can get a ticket for being in the left lane and not passing someone.

I hate driving when I'm on my phone, so I try not to answer it unless it's important, or if I have a passenger I usually have them answer it.

On your side Unit, the guy was being retarded if he got on your *** again at 90.. so wave the bird all ya want.

I try not to sit in the left lane any more just because that's the one the cops tend to watch... doesn't mean I don't find myself there often anyway, because, well, that's the one that's open and has people going fast in it...

When I'm on the interstate or highway and am trying to get somewhere I get pretty pissed at people driving slower than I am in the left lane. When I am driving I don't care if you are going 15 over if I want to risk it and go faster than move over it's my choice.

I agree that the left lane is for passing, the sign says "Slower traffic keep right" near as I can read. However, if your passing or have just passed and are coming up on more slower traffic to your right, ya don't wanna jump in the right lane and get on the binders just because some impatient ******* is riding your bumper. When a decent space becomes available I'll move over. Otherwise, if your on my *** because you're a premature ejacalator or some such fool, I will drop two gears, blow smoke in your face and run off and hide from your dumb *** while my backend merrily dances to and fro.
