Currently they all have 3.5l 260hp VQ-engine. '97 was an earlier model with 190hp, but lighter. And yes, I30 is basically a rebadged Maxima with better customer service, sometimes they also have a little bit higher hp ratings (like 227 vs 222 for Maxima ).
I'm suprised you could extract 310hp from that 3.0l - could you tell more about the mods, is it higher rev limit? couple of my friends have Maximas and I had one for a while.

Don't maximas have 255hp and I do think you can get them with a 6 speed. I know the are not the faster things on earth but for a family car they are pretty quick. I know of one where I live that the guy put a turbo on that is pretty quick. Damn rice-a-ronis <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

my friend has a maxima with a blower its a stillen kit i think its a vortech blower he can take out f bodys, his is manual he says its the skyline tranny guess its stock with it not sure, but this weekend i seen him take out an a ss off a light and run with a single turbo supra with low boost from a stop i mean he can suprise a lot of cars im not into maximas but i am impressed by his car not too many people acknowledge maximas as anything quick making the perfect sleeper.

Ok, after further review, and lots of pausing, i've determined that the headlights are those of a '98 and up camaro, however, I also noticed that the roof is the same color as the body. Weren't the roofs on all '98 Z28s black?

An e55 AMG goes about 13.1 to 13.6 lets say(because it does) and a m6 SS goes what, 13.2s around there? Now thats at the track. On the street the SS will be slower because its not like the street gets prepped for him but the AMG will not really miss a beat because it weighs a ton and doesnt really spin. So, who did you expect to win?

So I'd say that not only is it a fast 4-door (now the fastest production 4dr car in the world), but it also out drags the "drag car" SS. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />
